Reminds me your "Keep Fighting" piece a little bit - same instruments, this style... Gods, this style... :)
And maybe I'm deaf, but I didn't hear this "crack"...
1) I choose a preset drum kit and style from my keyboard
2) I play the drum parts myself (and record it) with any drum kit
3) I can create my own rhythm style, by using the preset styles of my instrument and then, I just play my own parts over it.
I hope, that helped a little. Overall, playing your OWN rhythm is very difficult. I prefer option 3), where I can build up my own style and then... it just keeps playing alone.
The drum instruments I am playing are "sitting" on several keys of my keyboard. I just have to choose the drum kit and I can play. :)
I use this method when I play on bass - connecting guitar to amplifier and then to computer. So far it proves correct :)

Thank you very much for the tip, too. I think, I will also mix some REAL sounds to my songs in time! ;) Just like using a "chain" or "bucket drum"... whatever. Anything to make it more vivid! ;)

So far, everything's working fine. Had a lot of stress at school... but not because of pupils or collegues. No, it's because of long days and much work... and correction a helluva lot class tests. XD But I manage. That's my job!
