The Swordslammers
Title can't be empty.
Title can't be empty.
Tall, heavily muscled and - usually - even tempered. Northern Swordslammers hail from mountains heavy with ore. Titanium, gold, iron, even platinum are rich in their mountains, and they have claimed all the mountains in the area under the name of their monarch, Empress Amalna'hash, whose lineage earned the throne after discovering how to smelt Dragonsteel, which is now their most valued and sought after commodity.
Swordslammer isn't, truthfully, their species name. They're a type of Gnollish troll, and their true name is Suarnach (su-are-nah-ch), which means 'children of the ore'. They get their common name, Swordslammer, from the fact that their race are natural blacksmiths. From birth they can handle an anvil and hammer better than any other race, and smelting is second nature. They have a true love of metals, greater than that of dwarves or even true trolls. As far as their diet goes, they are mainly carnivorous, though they have been known to eat berries and vegetables in larger meals.
They craft strong armour, custom made for perfect fitting and comfort, and their helmets are renowned for being nearly invincible. The reason for this is that their mines are notoriously dangerous places to the unprotected, and a swung pick can be devastating, even to their strong skulls.
They love ancient, well kept weapons and armour, though they'll happily take rusted, beaten old armour and weapons to lovingly restore them; the entrance hall to their main city, Hurichah (Anvil's Home), deep within their largest and richest mountain, is lined with weapons and armour from ancient times that they have restored. Their fur gives them quite strong resistance against heat and flying sparks, which can't ignite their nearly fireproof fur. Females generally cut their hair short or tie it back into ponytails, plaited or not, and will strap their breasts to their body. Their tails are, sometimes, docked short, though females will usually keep them long for the sleek, feminine look it gives them.
Swordslammers give birth to one child at a time, and their childhood is roughly twelve years long before they enter puberty, and they are not considered an adult until the age of twenty, when they are handed down the designs for their lineage's family armour.
Theirs is a race steeped heavily in tradition and history, they have a library in which the history of not only their entire species but each family is written. Family series are advanced at the death, and birth, of each new member. Thousands upon thousands of tomes are within this library, almost as many as the Library of Light's Knowledge, which has been counted to house over a million different scriptures.
