Jazz Harmonica Instrumental (Original)
Title can't be empty.
Title can't be empty.
My music teacher once told me that you can't play jazz on harmonica, so I wrote this as a response. I also decided I wanted to throw some tin whistle in this recording too since that is another diatonic instrument that you aren't supposed to be able to play jazz on. Anyway, here it is, the 8th song I ever wrote back in 2005.

Notes: I wrote this as sort of a challenge that i took from my friend and teacher Mike Pavou who told me basically "you can't play jazz on harmonica." My response was to compose my first jazz piece specifically fore guitar and harmonica. I never named this piece, but I love the chord progression so much that I would frequently play it and would also of course play the melody pretty often on my harmonicas. The jazz notation I am using here is one I learned from Mike where maj7 chords are indicated by a ?, half diminished chords by a ø and full diminished chords by a o. My understanding from doing a little reading is that John Coltrane was the one that started the ? for maj7 chords and that the diminished and half diminished symbols are holdovers from baroque period notation.
