Corbel is a creature of my own design called a Bequo. A Bequo is one kind of being called a Ka'Lau that is a physical embodiment of an emotion. Bequo Ka'Lau in particular embody joy.

In physical appearance, Bequo resemble large gorillas with dark-red fur, dark greyish-blue skin, and long monkey-like tails. They are heavy-set and muscular, basically shaped like big, beefy, slightly anthropomorphized gorillas. They generally knuckle walk like real gorillas. A prominent physical feature is long, catfish-like whiskers on their faces and wide, catfish-like mouths. The whiskers are used for the detection and transmission of thoughts. Bequo do not speak outloud, but transmit their thoughts directly into the minds of those around them. Their eyes have the usual white sclera and irises which are golden with no pupils. All Bequo can hypnotize those who look at them directly in the eyes, though in keeping with their nature they can only compel people to acts of joy: happiness, ecstasy, joviality. When they hypnotize, their eyes glow with golden light, filling their entire eyes.

Corbel in particular usually has a mischevous look in his eyes, as he is a lover of pranks and mischief. He has a near perpetual smirk across his wide mouth and is given to fits of raucous laughter. He's a musician, in particular a player of the bansuri, the bamboo flute, which, when he's not playing, he wears strapped to his back by a cord of woven rope.
