Chapter Five: Wolfsong, Part One
“This is the greatest threat to have faced New York since the werewolf invasion of last week; we are here, waiting for the Outsiders to arrive.” Sally Sparrow said as she moved out of the shot and showed the Stadium covered in a forcefield, before the camera zoomed out and showed a forcefield covering the air above her.
“And here they appear to be, we have Riptide but nothing from Nightshifter so far.” Sally Sparrow said as she walked forward and made sure her idiotic camera man got a zoomed in shot on Riptide as he stuffed a bagel down his throat. “It seems that this morning even the Outsiders weren’t expecting this, at least he has a balanced breakfast.”
“What’s going on?” Riptide asked as he walked alongside the Mayor’s aide. She handed him a file report and based on the red X covering the folder and the for your eyes only stamp, told him what he needed to know. “Stay behind, keep the public in check we don’t want anyone in there until I come back.”
Riptide kept the aide back as he started to climb the steps, his mind wandering on what sort of threat he was facing. If it was enough to require an emergency transmission to his television, than he needed to act quickly. He was secretly smuggled through the forcefield and made on his way.
Riptide rushed into the Yankee Stadium, a forcefield raised around the large domed baseball stadium; The Queens was on lockdown, all bridges and tunnels out of the city shut down; even more than that New York City was on shut down. As Riptide walked in, transforming into his Ice Form without even looking at the reports, what did he expect to be located within the Stadium?
He groaned, he expected something different; he expected a large bull inside the middle of the field raging and trying to escape, an invasion of goo from outer space, that copied your ever move, some sort of god that decided to beam down and share his knowledge.
However, looking forward he had groaned, he saw a threat but the way they acted really hyped it up. He was a bit disappointed, still as he saw the furry beast chow on of a clump of hotdogs from a vender cart, he wondered how much damage the werewolf could do.
It looked nearly domesticated, it skin and fur seemed clean and besides hot dog meat in his teeth, they were clean. The werewolf sensed him but didn’t react as he came into the stadium. So decided to take a logical approach, he stood behind looking down and trying to see if Nightshifter was coming.
Riptide looked at the werewolf wondering how much damage it could do; it probably couldn’t even transform other people. Still he looked forward and at the hotdog vender, at first what he thought was spilled hotdog water seemed to be expanding and redder than he thought.
Walking forward, the werewolf turned towards him and snarled his teeth, as he did he saw the large gash in the wolf’s side. Riptide backed up, the werewolf was focusing on surviving and needed medical attention for the wound. Only if Nightshifter could ever find the time to arrive, then he could detransform the wolf.
The wolf was dangerous and if he attacked than he might get a matching gash. He did however, turn off his ice form. In his normal body he walked forward and carefully extended out his hand. The wolf snarled again but didn’t bite at him, so Riptide walked a few feet more.
“Ok listen I don’t know if you can hear me or not in their but we can help you; that gash on your side is nothing on our medicine, so if you can let me approach and take a look at it.” Riptide said explaining himself as he walked towards the wolf, getting on his knees and getting down to the werewolf’s level.
He approached slowly, and it looked like the gash extended from the werewolf’s bottom rib to its waste, it showed signs of healing and starting to clot, but it still seemed like it could be a few hours old. Could their perhaps be a few more werewolves, who sent this one up as to distract him.
Turning around he checked the inside of the field and saw nothing of worry, so he continued cautiously. The werewolf still looked like he wanted to attack him but based on the gash he probably couldn’t extend his legs quick enough without pulling the gash again.
And then he backed up, he approached the entrance of the stadium and saw Nightshifter finally arrive a folder in his left hand and his phone in his right. Luckily it seemed that his time watching the wolf was over. Nightshifter forced himself through the forcefield and climbed through.
“Ok, we have a wounded werewolf where’s his injury?” Nightshifter said wasting no time as he approached and saw the wolf still chowing down on his nitrate high meal.
“Rib to hip, left side; we should change him back and transport him to a hospital.” Riptide said as Nightshifter turned his head and examined the area, he looked confused and a bit of worry showed up on his face. Nightshifter backed up as the werewolf snarled at him.
“I’m not sure about that, in this form his immune response is set into overdrive and if we change him back than we might risk his blood spilling out or going septic in this time, having about one hundred hot dogs probably isn’t doing him well on the stomach either.” Nightshifter said as he reevaluated the situation, returning the man to his normal form with such a gash might be too dangerous, and they needed to instead find a different way.
“Okay then we trap him and hold him down, maybe use a forcefield to contain him and then we get a vet in here to fix him up, then we detransform him and hopefully everything turns out all right. Nightshifter pulled out two forcefield generators, like two mines that could be exploded and generate one. “Those should do good we just have to be careful not to scare him.”
And seemingly as the werewolf ran out of food, he jumped around and looked at the two next targets. Nightshifter screamed as he was jumped on, his shoulder bit into as Riptide quickly acted. Grabbing the forcefield mine, and the hot dog water he threw them both and as the wolf was knocked back from the water he landed on the mine as well.
The wolf was entrapped in a forcefield and behind him something seemed different, Nightshifter’s shoulder was bit and blood was spilling out, he was first priority, yet where the blood was spilling seemed different, Nightshifter’s brown fur was seemingly replaced by black fur.
His perception folder was broken, looking at Nightshifter’s face he suddenly had a different face.
“Be a real shark.” Ronan said.
“There is no such thing as a real shark, do what is good.” Nightshifter said.
These statements suddenly came into confliction as Ronan had appeared in Nightshifter’s clothes. Falling on his knees, Riptide was shocked as he figured out that his best friend and worst enemy were one in the same, Nightshifter was Ronan. Backing up Riptide tried to figure out why Ronan would lie to him, why Nightshifter wouldn’t tell him that.
Even if Nightshifter and Ronan didn’t know that Riptide was Dustin, surely why would act different; Dustin made no effort to act different, so why was he treated as such. However, yet another problem arose. Their bodies were engulfed in beams of light, a teleporter beam.
Riptide, no Dustin; tried to stand up and escape but he was stuck. As he disappeared into the void, Yankee Stadium disappeared from around him and instead he was taken away by the teleporter.
…
With a thud, Dustin landed on the floor. Ronan, no Nightshifter, no Ronan; was standing next to him. He didn’t care where they were, he only cared that his best friend had disappeared and was replaced by the man he hated most of all; while he respected Ronan for what he did at the school, hate and respect could exist at the same time in his mind.
“Oh your son of a bitch, why did you have to do it. You threated me so nice as Riptide but Dustin needed to be more confident, well jokes on you as well.” Dustin said as he started to blab nonsense, for a lack of a better descriptive word. However, as he laid back against a crate and heard the sounds of a door opening nearby he was brought back to reality.
Looking around the room it appeared to be nice, metal plated walls; large stacks of crates and other such items for the storage of objects. And as he stood up, eh found a large automatic rifle pointed at his head.
“So then what are you doing here, like to explain yourself?” The solider said as Dustin realized that the automatic rifle to his head was a bit more important than his emotions with Ronan. Dustin putting his hands on his head he stood up and carefully made sure that he wasn’t threatening the man.
“Well first things first, someone teleported us here. We’d like to leave here as much as you would.” Dustin said as he shook making sure he was explaining himself as he tried not to get himself shot in the head. Ronan was knocked on the ground and he was slowly bleeding out.
“Pong, that’s enough they aren’t mutants; there the outsiders we’ve requested; take that gun away from his head.” Another solider said as he appeared in the door way, Dustin took a breath of relief as the gun was pulled away from his head. He looked at Ronan, he could feel the water in his body start to slow, he was slowly dying.
“My friend needs help, please don’t let him die.” Dustin said as he ran over to Ronan, he didn’t care that Nightshifter was Ronan; he still hoped that Nightshifter was alive within Ronan and that he could bring the Outsider back out of his bully. Pulling Ronan up, his wound looked strange; it was pink and the blood was acting strangely.
“You have a healing chamber; right?” Dustin said as he pulled Ronan over to the door way as the other solider led him towards to a different room.
“Ok, name’s ping; we’ve have a healing chamber but that doesn’t look good. It looks like a mutant infection, was he in contact with any transmutive creatives?” Ping said as he opened a door and led them into a tiny five by five room.
“Yes he was bit by a werewolf.” Dustin said as he realized what was happening, “He’s transforming isn’t he; I think we can stop that with this.”
Dustin reached into Ronan’s pocket and felt for his phone, he realized that the werewolf had crushed it. He couldn’t access the recording of Moonraker shouting out the detransformation signal. Dustin had no idea what he could do. “Never mind, have anything to stall the transformation.”
“Werewolves transform through the hearing cortex, you might have figured that out if you had the detransformation signal on your phone; however, down here we have a different way of preventing transformation.” Ping said as he reached into a drawer and pulled out a pair of headphones. He placed them on Ronan’s head and they glowed blue.
Ronan was placed in the tank and his body quickly started to float as the healing process began.
“We are choking the werewolf spirt with in his brain, at most he can’t hear anything for three hours; and it looks like we choked him at the right point, any longer and the wolf would have over taken his powers, he will be deaf but we can hold this position long enough until he is healed then we can move.” Pong said as he entered the room and looked at the console.
“What is happening here, why do you need the Outsiders; can’t you teleport yourself out?” Dustin said putting some pieces together inside his head and mentally working out some questions to ask.
“Marines don’t teleport out, we ask for help; even if so, the teleporter would need a significant amount of power to teleport out and is on the other side of the base, agronomical but bad planning, we can teleport you in but not out, something with the wiring.” Ping said as he walked out of the area and looked out into the hallway.
“Welcome to Sigma Base 3, we are on top of the rock that floats on top of the mantle, research base but something has happened, once the out teleporter went out; strange mutants appeared. We think they are trying to choke us out of this position and then they can find a way to invade the world above.” Ping continued as he looked around the next corner.
“We can’t fight the mutants for much longer and you have brought another into our base, so then these are the Outsiders I order, wasn’t their another?” Behind the corner another walked out at what looked to be strategic point, barricades set up and multiple machine guns placed towards a hallway.
“You teleported us a bad time, I just found out my best friend is also my enemy, I’ll deal with it later, you said mutants are attacking here.” Dustin said pulling himself together as he decided to deal with the larger problem at hand.
“Good, now then for introduction. You’ve met Ping and Pong, I’m Octavian; you’re Riptide, Demi-werewolf is Nightshifter, still where is Viewfinder? Still shouldn’t there be three of you?” The head solider said as he looked around.
…
Colin, known to his Outsider friends as Viewfinder or the only blind lizard in New York stood up. He searched around, he wasn’t blind, his eyes worked differently. He saw people and their auras and anything they touched, right now he could see about five auras.
He could identify Dustin and Ronan, and three more auras definitely more combative types, perhaps soldiers. He walked forward, walking into crate. That was the bad thing about his powers, he couldn’t see anything dead or that was never alive to begin with.
It was better though, that he could see through walls and see many people and identify them without even them seeing him. With a seeing eye guide he was perhaps the ultimate recon tracker, it didn’t matter the weather before him, the time of day, season, wind, clothing or person; they say justice is blind and if so he’d be the ultimate tracker.
Walking around the crate, he figured that at least taking the straight line path to Dustin would help him. Ronan’s aura looked weak, but he figured since he was floating, slightly above what he saw as the floor but now one above, then he’d be in a healing chamber.
He walked forward, and heard the sound of a door opening in front of him. He walked forward, feeling the door as he walked through the threshold. Assuming he was in the main hallway he walked forward and bounced along the wall, he walked forward and saw the auras react to his presence as he walked noisily through the hallway.
“Riptide is that you where are we, I can’t feel anyone nearby; it’s like we’re in some sort of isolation area.” Colin said as he walked forward and mundanely turned towards the group of auras.
“Colin you’re here as well, ok good follow my voice it’s just a hallway.” Colin heard Dustin’s voice and he could see his aura forward from him. Colin walked forward keeping to the wall as he walked forward. He found Dustin and felt him, something felt different in him, as if he had learned something that changed him.
“What’s happening here, I can’t sense anyone but you; we’re not in New York are we?” Colin asked as he looked around trying to gather information on what was happening, he needed information if he wanted to be a help. He stood against the wall and held himself still.
“Ok, we in a base underground, as in on top of magma fields; research station marines; Nightshifter is Ronan and is turning into a werewolf; meanwhile mutants are invading and I feel confused.” Dustin said as he attempted to catch Colin up as he handled the information as well.
“Ok, Ronan can’t hear anything I assume; I know signage; I can commutate to him and he can talk back to you; and hopefully we can work together and figure a way out; where is your teleporter room?” Colin asked knowing that he might be a tipping point.
“The room is on the other side of the base, through multiple series of mutant hordes. We can easily force through a few of the hordes but if we make too much noise then we can bring the entire horde to our location.” Octavian said as he explained to Colin the situation.
“Well then this feels like a good idea, with six of us; each of us watching each other’s back and filling in each other’s weaknesses; we might just have a chance to beat this and get to the other side; get Ronan, he should be healed and then we’ll move out.” Colin said as he looked around and seemed like he was attempted to do something.
“Good plan, let’s do as Colin says; we’ll move the fastest that way.” Dustin said deciding that Colin would be their best bet in order to find a way out of the base. Ronan would Colin’s seeing eyes and Dustin would make sure they were headed in the right direction and defeat the mutants; the soldiers would flank them and keep them safe.
…
“Dustin, can we talk; I’m want to say…” Ronan said, his words coming out a bit slurred. Dustin expected that, he couldn’t hear his own words. He was working with the best that he could.
“Colin, tell Ronan; we can talk about this later, we need to focus on carefully navigating this area; once we leave here then we can talk about this.” Dustin said to Colin as the lizard turned towards Ronan and started to sign.
“Dustin, it’s not that I meant to bully you, it’s just…” Ronan said slurred as he tried to explain.
“Tell him to shut it.” Dustin said as he walked forward, he tried to feel for water; without that there might be a bit more of a problem to defeat mutants. Thus he walked up to Ping, Pong and Octavian; who were guarding the front, leading them and making sure nothing was going to attack.
“Ok, where is your water storage, if we can divert there than I can enter Ice Form and generate my own.” Dustin said as he looked around, “We don’t need much water only about one fourth my body weight.”
“Well down here water is generated by manipulating the natural waves of a neutrino field, and it’s hard to store, neutrinos however are continuously coming through and we can generate a mild river per second, so we generator as water as needed.” Ping said explaining their system.
“You really didn’t plan for any emergencies, any more failures in hindsight in this place’s planning.” Dustin said as he walked forward, they were in a hallway; he looked back at Colin; something was wrong with the base’s cooling system, the walls and floors were becoming warm.
“Once we get to a sink we can generate all the water we need, at least according to what we were told.” Octavian said as they all walked forward, Colin and Ronan working together to lead each other as they attempted to figure out what was happening.
“So then you’re an Outsider, what is currently happening between you and Ronan?” Octavian said as they walked forward, trying to make conversation as they walked forward.
“That was in the past, he played two sides; the shame of our Outsiders, two people could meet and never know that at night they worked together to fight all sorts of interdimensional creatures, a safety precaution; and I hope that you won’t tell others of our identities, either way that cat is out of the bag.” Dustin said changing the subject.
“Ah yes, I will make sure that any mention of you three in the records will be erased and replaced with your Outsider personas, I will do my best to assure that your personal life is safe.” Octavian said as he tried to understand what was going on within the team.
“Now then, this base is made of tungsten, I would presume so we can resist temperatures about the measure of the sun; so we should be safe from this entire base melting around us.” Dustin said as he walked forward and attempted to feel the walls, any insulation would presumably keep them cool for now. However behind them they heard the sound of a system shorting out, except for Ronan of course.
“Of course then that is only the walls, the heat is going to weed its way through the wires of the system and start to melt wires, if one atom is melted then the entire system could short. We need to find the cooling system.” Dustin said as they walked forward.
“Problem, that is the opposite way from the teleportation room; so we can either rush towards that and get out before the base melts or we can go to the cooling system, possibly save ourselves and give us a bit more time.” Colin said behind them trying to help them in their processes making. Colin signed to Ronan who seemed to be understanding the sign language, Ronan wasn’t picking the headphones off but seemed to know what was going on.
Dustin said nothing as he walked forward and tried to do some math in his head, working on how long they would have until the entire base melted around them.
“I’m sensing a bit of friction between the front of the group back towards here, anything you’d like to say to that to us and Ronan.” Colin said as he signed his words, Ronan looked down in shame knowing that he was the cause of Dustin acting so strangely.
Colin suddenly walked into the wall, reacting Ping and Pong moved back as to guide Ronan and Colin as they found themselves at a spilt. They looked to the left and the right, it looked like finally they found themselves an interesting choice to make.
“Ok, which way should we go; which direction leads us into the teleportation room and which to the cooling center?” Dustin said as he was confused he had no idea which way to go. Dustin and Octavian looked at the sign on the wall and saw what it said.
“This way is the way to the cooling system.” Before they could react, suddenly as if reacting the walls above them started to creak. Dustin grabbed Octavian and jumped back as the wall above them collapsed and melted. Running into the ground, Dustin realized what happened and stood up.
Blocking their way, a wall of debris had fallen in front of them blocking their way into the path.
“Oh dear this doesn’t look good, I have an idea you four go to the teleportation room and we’ll go to the cooling systems. If we activate them you can get to the teleportation systems and get us all out at the same time, this might work to our advantage.” Dustin said through the wall, he heard the group on the other side talk as they discussed what was happening.
“Remember Ronan can phase through the wall and bring you back, all you need to do is contact us and then we can work together.” Colin said from the other side of the rubble. Dustin pondered whether he wanted to be saved or not, he ought to prove himself without Nightshifter, save himself and complete the mission himself.
“Ok, we’re going to go; Colin be careful. Don’t let Dustin hear anything, you can make it if you work together.” Dustin said through the wall as he prepared to disembark on his portion of the journey. Octavian walked up as well to the wall and tried to hear what was be said on the other side as well.
“Ping, Pong; protect Colin and Ronan; they can turn the teleporter back on. Make sure you keep them our highest priority.” Octavian said through the wall as he sighed a bit knowing this was not how the mission should have gone. The wall in front of them bubbled as it started to boil, now in contact with the hot rock.
“Ok then let’s go.” Dustin and Colin said to their groups as they turned from the wall and decided to start their journeys. Dustin and Octavian would go on to the cooling systems and buy them time; while Colin, Ronan, Ping and Pong would all head the other way and attempt to fix the teleporter and get them escape.
“So then you said this was a research base.” Dustin said as they walked forward, slightly relieved that he didn’t have to catch Ronan or Colin up; now only his information mattered. However, he didn’t have Ping’s scientific mind to explain it to him.
“Yes, this was attempting to measure how much heat was generated by the Earth, one so we could see how long that as a fuel source would last and two to see many people could survive down here.” Octavian said as he walked forward knocking against the walls and hearing.
“Ah so standard bunker research, how long can the silly human race survive with in the confined space before they realize how important their right thumb is.” Dustin said as he walked down, suddenly they came to another hallway and Octavian blocked him. Dustin stopped and peered along the wall, trying to see the mutants finally.
Their bodies seemed more fluid, made up of this stick sludgy like goop and filled with pieces of metal and clothing scattered throughout their bodies. Some of them took on a more human stance, while others completely dissolved into nothing on the floor and were only blobs of matter, routinely forming a face before it disappeared.
And those were the mutants they needed to deal with, complete and full control over themselves and with even more power than the Outsiders had. Dustin nodded to Octavian and walked forward, trying to get a better look, it seemed as if they were passing through a cafeteria and perhaps that was where he could find water.
Octavian quickly wasted no time as he started to fire at the mutants, blobs getting knocked off but not killing them. Instead it seemed to be like mixing a bottle of Italian dressing, only reorganization it to make for a tastier combination. Knocked off blobs combined with other knocked off blobs, but it seemed there was a complete total of three full sized mutants.
“So then these are the mutants that are clogging up your base.” Dustin said bantering as he decided to go for a bit more unconventional move. Spitting towards the mutants, he quickly took control of his spit and slashed it at the mutants.
As the first one was cut in half, he started to run and Riptide jumped onto a table as he looked around. As it seemed the kitchen was connected to the dining hall through a group of opened shutters. Looking over, Riptide jumped over tables barely avoiding mutants as a few swiped at his leg.
As he jumped to the final table, his leg was grabbed. He slammed into the table and was pulled off onto the ground as the mutant grabbed him. Riptide grabbed onto the table and held on as the mutant slowly crawled up his body. He pulled his foot and wiggled it trying to pull it out.
“Come on let me go.” Riptide said as he spit again, this time he slashed around his leg and cut the mutant in half. He pulled his leg back and quickly climbed onto the table. Rolling onto the table he stood up in the middle as the mutant globs started to gather around him.
He jumped off the table and towards the shutters and landed on the edge. He crouched down and ducked into the kitchen. Shutting the shutters as he landed on the floor, he stood up looking around and found a sink. Running over to it he twisted both of the knobs and a tiny flow of water started to come out.
“Oh come on!” Dustin said kicking the wall as his anger overwhelmed him. He started to pull the water with him, engulfing both his hands with an expanding flow of water. He walked towards the door and kicked it open.
Riptide slashed forward with water, the liquid quickly slashing through the mutants and chopping them into tiny pieces. The mutants screamed and bubbled as they were cut into thinner pieces, until they were nothing against the floor.
He splashed a layer of water against the floor and froze it; Riptide took a few breaths looking at what he did. Octavian came into the room and Riptide walked back into the kitchen grabbing two plastic bottles from the storage. Filling them with water he attached both of them to his waste.
“Ok, then looks like lunch is up for them.” Riptide said as he raised the shutter and climbed through. Looking at the frozen remains of the mutants, they looked like they were attempting to reform. However, small groups of Mutants would be easy to go through now; he had enough water to defeat some of them now. Now was a key word, now that he had an idea on what to do; he needed to accomplish those goals.
“Ok, onwards bound.” Riptide said as he exited the kitchen glad that he had enough water to survive another encounter with the mutant. Octavian walked through the hallway, looking at the damage that Riptide had caused to the mutants.
“So then you said this was a research station, so why would a research station have a brig?” Dustin said as he walked out of the cantina, looking around in the darkness he saw their path split into multiple pathways. He looked at the sign and it the sign were true the path led into a brig.
“Well I’d guess this place is deserted and in case someone goes crazy, wouldn’t it be better just to lock someone up in case.” Octavian said, Dustin sensed something in his voice. In the past he spoke as if he practiced every word and knew what he was going to say, however, he couldn’t tell what was restraining the militant’s voice this time.
“Well better to check in here make sure that no one is in here, wouldn’t be fun in here in the case of someone being trapped.” Dustin said as he decided to push Octavian a bit and then he walked forward, looking into the brig. Something wasn’t right, he felt a power; like another super or an outsider; which wasn’t normal as he shouldn’t have been able to feel one.
He walked forward trying to get a sense of what he was feeling it was strange, he couldn’t feel the power from the mutants; so it wasn’t that. There was something back there; he needed to know what that power was.
“Hello is anyone back there.” Dustin said as he shambled forward, he could feel the power increasing it was like bait, slowly pulling him along the path as he looked through the cells trying to find where the source of the power was. He felt the power overcome his own and still it continued to grow, he had no idea how long it would take.
Still he walked forward and searched through all the cells until he found himself standing before the source, the spring spouting water out and pulling him. It was a shark, seemingly knocked out in the corner of the tiny 5 by 5 cell.
He looked into the cell and saw the eighteen-ish shark seemingly sleeping between the wall and the bed as if he didn’t know what the bed was for. Dustin turned towards Octavian who looked a bit guilty and seemed like he wanted to get away.
“So then Octavian mind telling me what’s the teenager for, was he being shared by the crew?” Dustin said joking as Octavian let out a little laugh. “Now then you should know that I don’t like being lied to so whatever your research is for better match up with what this teenager say. Hello wake, wakey, time to go!”
The shark stirred in his spot, saying a few mumbles as he woke up. The shark stretched up against the bed, yawning and rubbing his head. Pushing against the bed he stood up and looked at the cell entrance.
“So then who dares to interrupt the Kagen God of Earth!” He said yelling as he ran up to the cell, seemingly excited and angry at the same time. Dustin looked confused hearing some words that he hadn’t seen used in a context before.
“Sorry what god of Earth, the hell is a Kagen.” Dustin said seemingly confused at what he heard from the shark in the cell. The shark signaled to him and pulled him in while they were super close to the cell. Octavian seemed nervous as Dustin got closer, the Kagen grabbed Dustin’s hand and pulled it between the cell.
“Now then this is the defining feature of a Kagen.” As the shark put Dustin’s hand on his chest, something felt strange. Pulling Dustin’s hand to the left, he suddenly felt one heartbeat and to the left side he felt another. “Two hearts are better than one, best for our regeneration process in order to get enough blood.”
“I’d explain the rest but as it seems our friend Octavian seems to be a bit nervous; anything you’d like to say right now Octavian maybe about the situation or me; so come on give us a few details.” The Kagen said pushing himself away from Dustin and instead leaning on the cell.
“Well if you haven’t noticed the mutants have decided to revolt, so I don’t know; do you feel like acting good and escaping with us?” Octavian said as he joked a bit with the Kagen in the cell. The Kagen laughed a bit as if he knew a bit more information that Octavian, it was at this point that he backed up.
“You see Dustin, don’t ask how I know your name; I know everyone on this planet and their names; you see we Kagens have two hearts and baseline superpowers, I can heal from bone breakage and breath in space; a general life support kit and so do you.” The Kagen said as Dustin and Octavian both backed up from their position catching on that Kagen was going to do something.
“Now then the fun thing about us Kagens is that when we are on our much more powerful multidimensional level instead of having a shared superpower between a group, and having to deal with a dick leader; we instead get something far more useful. You get me.” The Kagen said laughing a bit as he signaled to Dustin. Dustin was afraid that he did understand.
“Now then the best part about being here, as the leaders of a multidimensional area is that we ourselves have individual superpowers.” As he spoke his skin started to gleam and he walked forward, his skin turning to metal as he passed through the bars.
His face split into three as the bars passed through his face and body. His skin reformed and his body came back together as he stepped out of his cell. He stood still in front of them as he seemingly managed to escape. Octavian and Dustin quickly backed up against the wall. “So then I ask who dare disturbs the Kagen God Bright from his sleep?”
