"This page of the manuscript was different.
"It had an illustration, printed in several different shades of grey but no colors, showing a creature that looked like a dragon in a suit wielding a revolver and a flashlight. The bottom of the page had been torn away...there might have been some explanatory text there, but there wasn't enough left of it to tell.
"Unable to draw any further clues from it, I added it to my collection of stray pages."
