Max was never one for close, intimate interactions with friends or family. Sure, he loved them dearly and he wouldn't trade his adopted family for the world, but sometimes he just needed a quiet place to get away from it all. The Meadowlands was once such place, just in the northern districts of Zootopia, but even they got overcrowded as the years wore on and more mammals surged into the city. So Max had to travel further abroad for some peace and quiet, to the far north beyond the mountain ranges bordering the outskirts of Zootopia to the Cliffs of Mohare where a vast ocean seemed to go on forever. Here, Max could relax and enjoy nature and steady his nerves.
