Autumn Adventures
It's that season again, that time of the year where the days are still warm and sunny, but the nights turn cold and the mornings are filled with rain. Leaves are shifting colour and falling from the trees to turn the ground into a massive colour palette. The birds above are lifting in large flocks, heading south to warmer lands still rich on food. That makes all the little dragons by the lake very curious. Where is it the birds are flying? What lands do they go to? What things to they see? What other dragons are they talking to? But most importantly, what interesting new food are they eating?!
The curiosity of small dragons knows no bounds, and they lively discuss and share visions of the foreign lands with mysterious people, strange spices and magic mysteries. Soon the curiousness gets too much for them, and they just have to go and explore! But they don't have big wings like the birds, that will never take them over the ocean! But so one of them picks up one of the leaves from the ground and watches it flutter in the wind, before letting out a little eureka-squeak! Not long after, the crafty little buggers were drilling holes with claws, sharpening twigs and tying leaves until they had a sturdy little boat to traverse the big dangerous ocean.
The most curious of them all, Shyraneas and her friends jumped in as the others helped them set sail. Soon a strong cool western wind blew the sail and the boat sped off, riding on the little waves towards new adventures. The little dragons squealed and giggled in excitement. Jarren was amazed that his idea had actually worked. Valcyrie ran alongside the boat while Zarukh waved them off. Poor Enes tumbled off of the boat with a splash and into the cool water while the chonky little Azoth flew over them, racing the boat beneath him and aiming to cannonball it to splash them with cold water.
What a way to start autumn!
