Aren-Tal'an - The Navigator
Here's Aren-Tal'an (pronounced: "AR-en - tal-AHN"), the Navigator onboard the IES Chel-Sar Se'nika of the Mûr Tua'ansa Star Empire.
Aren-Tal'an is 7 ft. 9 in. tall, and is 44 Std. Mûr Zhæn years old (232 Std. Terran years), making her the oldest crewmember on the Se'nika. She is one of the enigmatic "Khea Mûr Tua'ansa" -- a rare ethnic group among the Mûr Tua'ansa -- who are particularly adept at "knowing the way". They always know the exact direction and location of the Mûr Thel-Raleen, or "The Source of Souls", that is the most sacred spring on Mûr Zhæn, so they -- in effect -- can always find the way home. They make excellent navigators as a result since they never seem to become lost. Their sense of spatial orientation is nothing sort of mystical, and their ability to track is legendary among the Mûr Tua'ansa. Physically, they resemble the ordinary Mûr Tua'ansa, except that their skin is a slightly lighter shade of gray, and their hair is white (this includes the fur-like hair on their forearms and lower legs/feet). Khea Mûr Tua'ansa are generally quiet and reserved, have a great amount of patience, and tend to remain neutral in disputes.
I drew this using a 0.5 mm mechanical pencil with HB lead, a 2B graphite stick, various blending and shading tools, and an architect's scale, on Georgia-Pacific "Everyday Copy & Print" paper. I was able to get better facial and hair detail due to drawing her only from the chest up on the 8.5"x11" paper.
