Slumber...   (suggestion from a fluffy friend =^-^=)

Seeing a sight not quite right

I gaze at at the sun glowing above, in the still of night

 I appear to be in a sinking spot, every step I take shakes the very ground

No voice to use, I stagger about as I'm feeling followed, whispers being heard all around

As the sun & moon stare at one another, their light begins to fade

Snarls are heard behind me... something foul is being made

From every thought, it takes form, distorted & always out of sight

It only hungers for doubt, itching for my turn around, waiting for my final fight

As this continues, I make my way up the hill, though the distance seems ever expanding

My eyes losing focus, my arms giving way, the struggle is too demanding...

Slipping fingers burn as my neck feels a sickly light touch

The breath from the beast, awaiting its feast, heated anger emanating loudly from it so very much

Frozen in place, it stops in its chase, as dread fills my being

It seems to be growing, ever knowing, my struggle has become to great

My body now numb, I lay quietly, awaiting my nightmarish fate

As eyes close, my mind goes, toward a falling sensation

Breathing heavy, I sit up immediately, sweat falling from me, still lost in mental hesitation

For a moment, in bed, I shakily hold my head

Trying to picture what was just a moment away from ending my imagined breath, mentally speaking, I should of been dead

The memory now jumbled, in pieces it begins to fade

For what it was, what it wanted...its point, has been made...

Such feeling felt from what I could only hear, yet enough to shake me to the bone with fear

Uneasy I lay back, back into a chance at a better place, with closed eyes, to see

Though, a part of me will always know, it may come again, forever hunting, trying to find & end me...

"The monsters from thought need no true shape or form"

"They rely only on fears, & memories, with emotions & imagination, since the days we're born"

Remember, they are only as strong as we think they can be...

Such life is given, only if doubt is found within you & me...
