With every expression of her fledgling powers as a child, the depth of a younger Veera’s connection to the dimension of the dark arts deepened; with this increased the risk of their resonance with volatile emotion. Still consumed with grief from the untimely loss of her adoptive guardians to marauders, Veera’s energy destabilized after conjuring an immense spell out of rage in mid-flight, leaving her unconscious and hurtling in a free-fall to the ocean. She awoke on an unfamiliar shore, rescued by one who would become her best friend and new world tour guide: Maki.
