Mine in particular is a 86 5.0 5speed with the t-roof .Most people don't even know what they are.
There was less than 500 made in 86 with my particular set up.
Ironically Ive had two....an ex dismantled the first one to be an ass after we parted ways.

Back in the day, I had a 1983 Mustang LX 5.0. I had it serviced at the Lincoln-Mercury dealer, so I saw a fair number of these. But, that was when they were new.......

Ive had quite a few Fox bodies,I also had an 83,but it was a GT,besides that and the 2 Capri's Ive had an 85 SVO,,two 87 lx's,two 88 lx 5.0's,an 88 GT a 89 LX 5.0 Vert,a 90 lx 5.0,a 86 GT and a 85 GT

Sounds like! I also had a '79 Indy Pace Car. my stepson had one as well.

I had a chance to buy a 79 cobra but backed out after the test drive when I broke the rear diff.
Those 7.5's don't hold up at all :P

Mine did OK; not too much torque in a 2.3 turbo.

Ya 79 was a bad year for all models power-wise and the 2.3 turbos were all pretty much garbage until the svo came along in 84,and even better when the 85.5-86 svo's came out in addition to the later turbo coupe t-birds.
The 85.5 svo had more horsepower than the 5.0 that year which is really,kinda sad
