*Audiobook*- Thane of Hearts, part I
Title can't be empty.
Title can't be empty.
This is me, narrating the first chapter of my "Thane of Hearts" story (Ca 15 min).
The story is a "historical fantasy", set in AD1000.
(It's therian/otherkin themed, so it stays within the furry-zone).
Farobygd, a Norwegian village is visited by a wounded stranger, who tells marvellous tales of
his battles and adventures while nursing his wounded arm.
He is befriended by Askuld, who serves as an errand boy. Trusting at first, Askuld gradually grows suspicious of the stranger as he seems to lie about his age -by several hundred years. Then Askuld discovers that not only has the stranger's wound healed long ago; it is also host to something dark and other-worldy.
The story is clean and aimed at a general audience.
There are two parts to the story so far- and I'm still writing on it. I'll narrate the second part, if there is any interest in it. Let me know in the comments below (or drop me an PM).
I'm a bit unhappy with the audio quality. SoFurry would not accept my 196Kps file, and kept returning a 404 error. This version made it through, but it's only 128Kps - and midrange suffers.
You can read the first two parts of the story HERE:

I've been playing around with turning some of my stories into audio for a while. I've tried text-to-speech software on occasion, but the results have always been disappointing, so here the first chapter of "Thane of Hearts" as narrated by your friendly neighbourhood badger.
Here are the technical details:
Microphone: Shure PGA58
Audio card: Scarlet 2i4 external audio-card on PC
Recording software: Audacity (what else?)
Compressor: Audacity, built-in
Equaliser: Audacity, built-in
Reverb: Cytosonic Space360 VST effect
Other: I used the "Dialog" software from Wavearts to reduce the "plosives".
It's a commercial VST, but it doesn't do a very good job !!
