Do you know if it's meant to be a megalodon, or another type of prehistoric shark?

I never saw a sign for it, and I cannot read the signs in my photos well enough to give an answer. The Web site did not provide any useful information that I could find. I am giving it a generic "megashark" title to denote the size more than anything else.

Hmmm... It's difficult to get a sense of scale.

Megalodons could get up to 20 meters, with jaws big enough to swallow a person whole:

It was easily 40'+, and the jaws (see lower left corned and link) are certainly big enough to eat someone whole.
