You've always had the talent, though. I think that's what folks see, it's not that your stuff doesn't look like Picasso, Degas, or Giacometti, -- but that the talent so transcends the skill, that the skill level just becomes "Your Style" rather than a flaw, or a weakness or distraction. Yer just that good. The emotion and action conveyed kinda keep it bullet proof against creditable criticism. People look and see what you meant to convey to them, and everything else is just petty beside it.
It's like saying of a room designed by Candice Olsen, "Oh, I like the design, alright. But I would have chosen a lighter shade of yellow." So what! The design is still so good, she could have made it goat-puke green, and it would still look like a billion bucks.
Same as your art, Personally I'm not into glow-y red eyes, but yer work is so well done, it doesn't matter, Raith's yearning to protect, Imp's seeming defenselessness, they are all so excellently crafted that what you see as imperfections, others just see as style, or mode. You may not have been good my your standards, then, but you've always had the recognizable talent, ..(if the early stuff you have posted here, is any indication).

I've seen bad, I've met the Best. And Yer good! Not Picasso, but better than Muench! Not as colorful as Peter Max, but still very, very good. Better than Jim Davis, but then, so am I. Yer good, oh, HEY! and thanks for the updates on yer story! I love Raith's character.
