Heuvadoches:\n Our\nreaders and the users of SoFurry have a few questions about the\nsearch function.

Toumal:\n Go\non! What shall I search for for you? :)

Heuvadoches:\n The\nbar at the top of the screen with the website title in it. Over on\nthe far right, we have a clear box with the word "go" in a\nbutton next to it.

Toumal:\n Yep

Heuvadoches:\n Ok.\nSo, we type something in there and click "go"\n\nright?

Toumal:\n That's\nthe gist of it, yes. But of course there are some\noptions

Heuvadoches:\n That's\nnot all?

Toumal:\n Well\nthe search returns you results of whatever type is currently active\nin the tabs

Heuvadoches:\n Oh,\nthe tabs. A user can filter it down by two categories?

Toumal:\n No,\nit's either everything (kind of an overview), or you narrow it down\nto a single type by clicking for example "Stories".

Heuvadoches:\n So,\nthe icons labeled "All" , "Art" , "Stories"\n\n, "Music" and "Journals" will filter it by that\nspecific category?

Toumal:\n That's\nthe idea.

Heuvadoches:\n I\nsee! And the sub-bar of "All" , "M/Solo" ,\n\n"F/Solo" and the like will filter the filtered\nresults?

Toumal:\n Eh,\nno. These are just quick-searches to make life easier for people who\nmiss the gender categories of YiffStar; however, we will have "saved\nsearches" in SoFurry 2.0 which will replace this.

Heuvadoches:\n That's\na bang up job!

Toumal:\n That's\nnot all – currently you can exclude tags in your search, so as\nto not have a certain thing appear at all. This is done by putting a\n"!" or "-" before the search tag. Oh and be sure\nto separate tags by comma, since there are tags that have spaces in\nthem.

Heuvadoches:\n Great!\nWhat about the Forums and Groups icon?

Toumal:\n Those\nare not tied in to the search function - yet. In SoFurry 2.0 this\nnavigation will be cleaned up significantly, it's actually our major\nfocus.

Heuvadoches:\n About\nthe new release of the user interface, some of our viewers may be\nworried that this feature will be changing. Can you give us any idea\nif this basic functionality will change?

Toumal:\n Well\nwe're removing most of the tabs and replacing them with a sleeker,\nless "busy" navigation. You can see our efforts in the\nforum, and we will DEFINITELY do a public beta of the new interface,\nso there's plenty of time to give feedback!
