A red stain started to form on her stomach, growing wider by the second. Vincent jumped by her side in a instant, holding her close. “No no no no why now?" He repeated as everyone else closed in around them. “Big brother….it hurts so much. Please make the pain go away." Mira whimpered, having both hands placed on Vincent's face. “Don't worry love, it's only a small wound, We'll have you all patched up in no time. MEDIC! WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOU?"  Vincent screamed out.

Our group's doctor rushed in, forcing everyone out of the way. He kneeled down beside Mira and examined her wound. The look on his face told us the worse. “ your Majesty, she was hit with an 5.56 round straight through the gut and fractured Upon impact. Her insides are completely destro-" Vincent grabbed the boy by the collar and pulled him in close. “I don't care, just fucking fix her!" He said with utmost hostility. The medic gulped down his salvia and nodded, bringing out his first aid kit from his backpack. He open the pack and picked out the scapple from inside, it was already doused with cleaning alcohol in order to prevent an unnecessary infections. Distant sirens could be heard now, getting louder and louder by the second.

“Sir! We have little time to operate. Enemies will close in on us if we don't run now!" It was grizzly who spoke up this time, his English was rough but still had large traces of his accent. This was the first time i heard talk in front of me before so i was caught off guard. Mira started to cough violently from this point, time was not on our side. Vincent bit his lip and screamed in defeat. “FUUUCK! Hurry up and move. Hold on for just a little longer Mira." He said as he gently lifted her up and jogged away from the area, heading deeper into the Forest.

You could never understand how painful ten minutes were in these circumstances. It felt like a eternity for all of us, for Vincent especially. “Ok, we should be far enough. Mira, how are you holding up love?" He ask the little girl in his arms, blood already covering his body. “I….can't feel....anything big bro." She sobbed while Vincent place her down on a bed of flowers. “ don't talk, save all your strength." I tried to ensure her but I didn't think knew i was even there to begin with. “who is still….gonna show me….the….stars?"

“Don't worry Mira, I promised you that you'll see them and like dex said, We'll have a toast once you are an astronaut. Just please…. Don't go." Vincent begged, something i never thought he of all people would do. Even the strongest of men are still able show emotion and he was no exception. “Big bro? Where did you go? I can't….smell or hear you anymore." The realization hit all of us when she said that: Mira was losing all of her senses. Everyone screamed out Mira's name, telling her they were here but she kept on talking. “I don't want...to be alone, please don't leave me. Im……. scared, im scared! I don't wanna di-" Mira stopped talking, her milky white eyes looked up to the sky. Her skin, colder than winter itself. She was no longer with us.

Even if we were criminals till the bitter end, Mira could have gotten a second chance at life. She didn't fight, nor did show any hint of  hatred towards anyone. She showed all of us that there still can be joy in a world of pain. Now, that joy faded away along with her. I felt as though a small part of keeps dying everyday Im alive.

While the rest of us cried our hearts out, including grizzly and hunter. Vincent hadn't shed a single tear as he closed her eyes. Not an single sign of emotion was seen from him just a hollow stare, his eyes unwavering. “Rest now, sweet Mira. May your hands, soaked in our despair, be cleansed, now. Lay your head back onto her shoulder sweet Mira as you no longer feel pain. May you sleep peacefully once again. Let your sorrows vanish and welcome her loving embrace sweet Mira. She is waiting for you with open arms, join her and become one with the very heavens." Vincent said as he wiped away the blood from her mouth.

“I will bring them all back from death. Humanity will rise once again and the beastmen shall beg for forgiveness once I take my place. My royal knights, the kingdom awaits us all."
