Yeah, I check SoFurry much more often. Judging from the shouts on your userpage it appears we're both rather disillusioned with FurAffinity.

Hearing about how the admins are just makes me want to leave FA sometimes, but I've made so many good friends who I often talk to on FA more than anywhere else that I couldn't up and abandon them just because. After all, the admins haven't done anything to make me want to leave- at least not yet. But yeah, like I said before, here's to hoping that this is a better place than FA. SoFurry seems to be doing their thing pretty well making it interesting to post and do whatever. Especially the Xbox achievment like awards which I thought was a genius idea to do. If they would allow us to fully cusomize our pages and have features that Deviant Art had, then I'd be in heaven right about now. I'll buy it if it was a part of the premium memership.

Yeah, I kinda gave up on FA a long time ago for basically the same reason: the administration doesn't seem to be interested in running the site professionally. The breaking point for me is when a user on FA had an issue with an admin, I asked what they were going to do to ensure a similar incident didn't occur in the future, and _five_ different staff members decided to make personal attacks against me rather than actually addressing my questions. Unfortunately, FA is like Facebook: If you're not active on the site you're going to miss out on a lot of things and it's made it really hard to catch some artists I'd love to commission during the extremely brief window they're open for such. </rant>

In any case, what sort of customization are you talking about? I'm guessing you mean picking a submission or two to feature? You already can change your page banner, if that helps. I've never used a DeviantArt account for more than just browsing so I'm not entirely sure what all you're interested in, but if you prod Toumal there's a good chance he'll be open to the suggestions.

And as an achievement whore myself, I kinda am surprised I've already racked up so many of them. I guess that's what happens when you're reasonably active on a site that's been around for for a decade and has always treated authors well.

Yes it is ^_^ I drew this while I was at the con which is what I usually do for folks there ($20 a sketch like this). Used a lot of sharp eraser edges and gum eraser to get all the lighting effects down for this one X3

I agree. It never gets old seeing people so some insane work with just a simple pencil. I've done a lot of digital artwork for 12 years, but never will I ever give up my roots of traditional drawing. It's sad seeing artists sell their soul to the digital world and forgetting where they come from? If they go back to traditional art, they'll lose their touch... or expect to find the undo button to erase a mistake rather than carefully erasing it LoL.

Yeah.. Like when you're working with pen and ink and you accidentally splotch or spill ink, there's no undo button (scariest moment in the work if youve used pen and ink). I'm glad to hear you're not selling your soul to digital :) yeah its colorful and visually stimilating, but personally I think its nice to come away with something tangible that you can hold.

Oh I KNOW the feeling Lol! I'm very careful when dealing with ink. Especially those rolling ballpoint pens (preferrably by the pen company I trust, Precise) which gives very nice stroke lines, but then I'd have to take a break at certain points since the ink can be so wet, it'll smear under my hand O_o; The best pen I use to shade with are the standard (often Bic) pens you'd find everywhere since their ink output is lighter and I can control the pressure of ink coming out. LoL It sure does make ya with there was a undo button. Instead... there's a New file button and that's turning to the next page in the sketchbook to start over XD

Faber-Castille has very nice pens with alot of purposes, they have to be my favorite :) It's really hard for them to bleed through paper, too. I actually use the old fashioned fountain/calligraphy pens just as often if not more often. They're really neat but they can be horrifying ._.

Yeah, calligraphy pens do produce a nice variety of lines don't they? Of the whole time I've been drawing, I've never ever used one >_<; I should invest in one and try it out for once.

They're not a very expensive investment ^.^
