DHW
Part 2
The dragon realm
Allen:
I wake up slowly, the rising sun's light illuminating the rocky walls of the cave around me. I open my eyes to see a surprising blue thing covering me, i slowly rub it, it's warm and soft to the touch. It suddenly moves, revealing the brightness of the yellow sun, blinding me.
I turn my head away to see what I've been lying on all the night: warm and smooth deep blue scales. I hear a long rumble coming from my right. I watch in this direction to meet this big black face and those beautiful blue eyes looking straight at me. Kyo seams, as always, angry.
- Who gave you permission to sleep on my belly? He growls.
I have nothing to answer and start to get up just to be pinned down by a huge wing.
I don't understand why he is doing this. His big scaly head appear in front of me, growling, fangs barred, saliva leaking from the corner of his mouth.
I'm fearing the worst. Did the bound between us broke during my sleep? I try to get out from his grasp, squirming. His head is so close to mine now, his hot breath washing over my face. But suddenly he bursts into laughter, an expression of amusement on his face.
- You should have seen your face.
- You little scaly bastard!
- What? I have the right to amuse myself too.
- Never do this to me again. Damn I almost pee on myself.
Kyo his laughing so loud it echoes on the cave, his body shaking underneath me.
- So… you are not angry?
- Why would I? It felt good… I mean… it… missed me this kind of contact you know…. It makes weeks since I had this kind of warm feeling of someone near me.
- I understand.
- Allen….
- Woah! You know my name.
- I'm not joking.
- Ok, ok what do you want?
- Can you tell me where we are?
- Don't tell me you dent remember?
- Remember what?
- What happened last night?
- What happened exactly?
- You really don't remember a thing?
- Nothing. My memory is a blur. I only remember us going to the cavern where the eggs were and after it's only darkness.
- God damn it, how can you forget all of it.
- I don't know.
- Well, like you said we went to the cave, we found the eggs hidden behind an invisibility spell.
- An invisibility spell! It… it can't be mine, I… don't know how to do search things. It's a high level of magic.
- Let me finish. The spell wasn't yours, of course, it was casted by someone who had been waiting for us.
- Who?
- He was all dressed in black, his face hidden behind a hood, only one of his eyes was glowing red.
- Did he said his name?
- Yes… he pretended to call himself the Watcher.
- God fucking damn it! Did he said something?
- Yes… a lot of things in fact. He said the eggs were now belongings of his masters, that you were used to find them for us and that he was seeking something else.
- What?
- I'm gonna tell you. But first he called you… by a strange name.
- A strange name… what do you mean?
- He called you… Kaos.
- What! That's not my name. Are you sure he was talking to me?
- He only talked to you.
- Why this name sounds familiar to me…?
- Don't know.
- And… After?
- He… broke a big black crystal in front of you.
- No… he didn't do that!
- Sadly yes. After that you started to….
- Transform.
I nod slowly.
- You saw… him.
- Kaos? Yes.
- That must be his name.
- Probably.
- After?
- We managed to escape him, then he teleported us here and that's pretty much all.
- Did he told you where he send us?
- He just said that you'll find out.
- Well let's have a look outside.
We both walked to the entrance of the cavern to see in the blinding light of the morning ourselves in a large open space covered of green grass surrounded by big trees.
- I know this place…. Whisper Kyo. Hold on a second.
He took flight, climbing high above the trees, staying in flight for several seconds before diving and landing near me.
- We are almost there.
- What are you talking about?
We are so close.
- Close from what?
- Our destination.
- You mean.
- Yes.
- It's great!
- So great.
- Well, let's take everything we can and go.
- I agree.
- For once.
- Just shut up.
In five minute everything was ready, attached to Kyo's back. I had to hide the weapons better to avoid any troubles.
At the moment of leaving this place I asked:
- Can I?
- Mount me? Only in your dreams.
- Ok.
- I'm joking, climb.
I execute myself and quickly we take flight. Soon we are flying high in the skies, the cold air making me regret to have forgotten to bring a coat.
But soon, too soon I see Kyo descending toward the ground.
- What are you doing?
- From here you'll have to walk.
- Why?
- It's obvious. It's not very good for me and you if they see you on my back.
- It makes sense
We walked for quite a long time on a road large enough at least three dragons could cross without problem.
We finally arrive in front of a huge door as thick as kyo's tail, made of pure obsidian guarded by a dozen of dragons and as much humans, all of them wearing heavy but shiny armors.
There, everything start to slow down.
- Damn, at this speed we are not going to enter before nightfall.
- With a bit of patience….
- We are a bit in a hurry.
- Yes but what can we do?
- Open the smallest bag.
- Ok.
- You should find a big sheet of paper.
- I have it.
- Bring it to them.
- I'm not you're….
- Here you are nothing more than a slave. Kyo quickly explain me in my mind.
- I see.
- So please be kind and obey.
- I'll try.
- And only call me master or something like this.
- I'll try. I repeat.
I take a deep breath before engaging me in the crowd.
I walk as fast as I can, avoiding heavy paws, dodge tails until someone shout.
- You want help my friend.
I stop next to the other human who called me.
- I have to bring this to the guards.
- It looks important.
- It is.
- Can I ask from who it is?
- My master. He was sent in mission by the… kings and have to see them now.
- Hold on I may be able to help you.
He hits gently the foreleg of the dragon next to him.
- What do you want slave? Growl his master.
He quickly explain the situation to his master who quickly looks interested.
- Well I can help a fellow dragon.
He lift his head and yell something to the closest guard. Soon he is in front of me, dominating me with his golden eyes. He takes the heavy paper and reads what's written on it. He freeze for a brief second before making a sign to his colleagues.
- Everyone make room now! Shouts one of them.
- On the side of the road now! Yell another one.
Soon a wide alley opens itself.
Kyo walks to me and make a small satisfied smile.
When the other dragon see him he freeze to.
- I didn't expected that.
Kyo looks as much surprised.
- Am I dreaming?
The other dragon slap him gently across the face with his tail.
- Apparently not.
- What are you doing here?
- And you?
- I'm working.
- For real?
- Yep and you?
- Well coming back from a business trip.
- I'm so happy to see you here.
- Me too. Well let's go, the door is open.
- Lets go.
We enter the city, accompanied by the green dragon and his four human slaves. Kyo and the green dragon named Tarken were chatting happily, not even caring about them.
- Well what's this work you are doing?
- Oh just carrying things.
- What kind of thing.
- Things too precious to be carried by slaves.
- That's interesting can you show me?
- Only somewhere more… private.
They entered a dark alley, completely empty. Kyo opened one of the bags.
- It makes a lot of eggs.
- And that's not all.
He showed him all the stuff, weapons, explosive goo, and other things like a complete set of armor for a dragon.
- Everything is human made… where did you get them?
- That's a secret my friend.
- You stall them.
- I can't say no.
- God damn it what are you doing that Kyo?
- I have my reasons.
- And i see you brought back another thing from your trip.
- What do you mean?
- You think I didn't saw the mark on his hand.
At this exact moment one of the human took my hand, revealing the black marks on my palm.
- You… made it…. You bound yourself to him.
- Yes and what are you gonna do about that?
I suddenly broke free, and in less than a second a dagger appear in my hand.
- You thought I didn't notice there was missing a dagger.
- Fuck.
Four guns were pointed on my head.
- And to answer you Kyo, I'm going to do nothing.
- What?!
- I won't denounce you.
- Why?
- Because you are my friend idiot.
Guns drop on the ground, replaced by warm smiles.
- Damn you scared the shit out of me.
- Kyo… you know I'll never betray you like this.
- I know Tarken but… can't believe anyone here… now that I have him by my side.
- Don't worry I won't do a thing against you… I even envy you my friend.
- Really?
- Yes I… never had the courage to do it myself.
I'm so surprised to hear that in the mouth of a dragon. I know peoples of all the empire dreams of having their own personal dragon, I never suspected dragon could feel the same way.
They talk for a moment of things that don't concern me. It continues until Kyo decides to go.
- Be careful my friend. There is no way to know what could possibly happen here.
- Why are you saying that? I ask, curious.
- Well strange things happen here… people disappearing for obscure reasons, more and more weird laws and decree, gangs creating everywhere, slowly taking control of entire districts, your home is now part of the dragon eye crew's territory.
- Just fucking great.
- Anyway I hope it will go well for you and if you have some time come to my home, I'll be happy to talk with both of you.
- I'll come. Promised Kyo before we left them.
Kyo:
It's good to see some friendly faces but what Tarken told me is scary. Now I'm watching everywhere, analyzing every dragon I see. Soon I realize I see less guards in the street and the only one I manage to observe try to hide in the shadows, some other wear, painted on the thick plates of their armor big symbols, maybe one of the clan's mark. I recognize one of them. It belongs to one of the most respected clan of the city: the dragon order. I know them rely heavily on honor, respect and discipline. We past trough different district of this so huge city, more or less dirty street, houses and building more or less in good state, some even on the brink of collapsing.
- How can people live in there?
- I kept asking myself this question for a long time and found no answer.
Soon we approach the second set of walls, those one were perfectly white with some decorations here and there. Here, there were even more guards blocking the entrance.
- Go back from where you came, no one enter this part of the city without the authorizations.
- Give them… slave. I growl to Allen.
He quickly runs to the guards and give them the long sheet of thick yellowish paper.
The guard reads, look surprised and say.
- We… we will have to check.
- Do your work.
They start to open the bags and check their content.
- Damn… so much eggs. Can I…?
- No! Roars their commandant. Touch one of them and you'll never be able to touch anything else.
After a few other annoying things they open the heavy doors.
We enter a part of the city that always makes me want to paint those beautiful building made by our best architect in blood red.
- Kyo…. Calls Allen in my mind. Why are you so angry?
- I hate this place?
- This city?
- Only this part.
- Why?
- Those assholes lives in their little golden Eden when I and so many other lives in the shit with almost nothing.
- But… I saw you wanted to be one of them.
- It's everyone's dream here.
- You criticized us but your country isn't better than mine.
- Shut up… you don't know a single thing.
- Maybe… but i observe.
- Shut up or I'm really gonna hurt you.
- You want me to stay silent because you know I'm right.
- Maybe… but please shut up until we meet the kings, even mind conversation are not safe here.
- Ok… ok.
………
Watcher:
Pain… only pain… I'm floating in an infinite ocean of pure pain, my body is paralyzed, around me only the emptiness. I'm lying on something, it may ice cold or hot as hell I couldn't even make the difference. The only thing I feel is rage boiling inside of me. How it all did happened? How this human managed to fool me like this? I saw the explosives in the bag, I saw the bow, i saw all the crack in those fragile walls but I ignored them. What a stupid mistake.
- You really disappointed me Watcher. Says the voice of my master.
It seems so close but also so far away.
- I failed master.
- I see that.
- I'm waiting for my punishment.
- You'll be punished but not now.
- What?
- You have a mission to accomplish.
- Master… you… really…?
- Yes. You are the most qualified for this mission.
- But I miserably failed.
- Not at all…. You already did a big part of the work. They flew away but Kaos is awake now and we can follow his energy… and this stupide drake went straight into our nets.
- You mean….
- Yes my Watcher… they are their, preparing to meet their kings, our obedient little pets.
- So stupide. I laugh, with my master.
- I'll free you from your rock tomb.
- Thanks master.
The rocks around me disappear, shattered in dust. I go out of the cavern and breathe the fresh mountain air. For once I appreciate it, even savoring it.
- Don't deceive me this time watcher. Says the dark voice of my master. I'll be watching you.
I don't respond and just vanish, only leaving behind me a trail of black smoke.
………
Kyo:
Finally. Those bags start too feel really heavy but we finally reached our destination. The enormous royal palace is as I remember it, so impressive you feel insignificant in front of it. It must be the second biggest building of all the city, the biggest one being the silver tower i can see from my current position. The palace looks so shiny in the light. Legends says it took fifty years to build the impressive metal and stone structure of only the main part of the palace. It's made for the most part of the purest stone I ever saw in all my life, the roofs and domes are covered in gold. We walk under the arcs of the entrance and arrive in the big court. In the center of this place was build a fountain and a gigantic golden statue of a dragon watching the visitors with his kind of terrifying eyes. At first it looks scary but when you change angle you'll see the proud beast watching the horizon with obvious determination. What I love is the appeasing sound of the gurgling water. We enter the palace by the main entrance, walks in the longest corridor I ever saw of my life. Every five meters two guards were there, like statue, barely moving, observing silently, waiting for something to happen.
Finally we stop in front of a door I know too well. I shiver in apprehension. What are they gonna say to me?
The kings intendent, a white dragon with ice blue eyes arrives and observes us with his ice cold look.
- You are late.
- I know sir. I apologize I….
- Don't care. You'll explain yourself in front of the kings, they are already waiting for you.
Without another word he opens the door revealing the throne room.
We make a few steps on a red carpet leading straight to a volley of steps where the two throne are, our kings sitting patiently on each of them.
The left one is a quite good looking gold dragon, He is quite tall, and slim, sharp ivory claws at his fingertips scratching gently the ancestral throne he looks at me with those amber eyes that always make me feel appreciated.
The right one is the complete opposite, tall, strong and muscular, covered in thick black scales, he looks more like a warrior ready to slay you than a king, calm and wise.
- My kings. I says before inclination until my snout touches the ground.
I slap Allen in the back of the head, not too hard, just enough for him to end in the same position.
- Kyo… we were waiting for you. Said the first one.
- I see you succeeded, in your mission.
- Yes… I… brought you….
- Let us be the judge of that. Bring them to us.
I obey and, with Allen's help put the bags at their feet before opening them wide.
- Well… everything looks good. Says the golden one as he examine one of the eggs.
- That's good work Kyo.
- Thanks my kings it was a honor to do it for you.
- But there is still a problem.
- What?!
- You should have been back two days ago.
- I know my kings… I… had troubles coming back.
- What kind of troubles?
- I had their army chasing after me… I managed to escape them after killing a few of them.
- Nice.
- But I had to hide for a day to heal and sleep a bit.
- And where does this human come from.
- Him. He is only a gift I made to myself.
- Interesting.
- But are you sure he is only a slave to you? Ask the black one with a suspicious glance at Allen
- What do you mean?
- You think we didn't felt what is between you, this bond linking your souls.
- I had no choice.
- Tell us the truth Kyo.
- I… was captured near the frontier… but I had time to hide all in a cave. I had no other choice my kings. I… beg… for your mercy….
- Is he gonna be a threat to us.
- No… he… he is too stupid to be a danger.
- How can we be sure?
- I never lied to you.
- You are right, you were always loyal to us.
- But we can't trust you anymore.
- But….
- You did well Kyo but sadly for you we won't be able to give you what we promised
- You mean… you won't respect your part of the bargain! I risked my life to bring you all of that and you….
- We won't give it to you now. We'll have to investigate a bit on you to be sure you are still with us.
- I am….
- You don't want to give him what he earned then you won't have them. Says Allen, surprising me.
I freeze for a second. In his hand a small gun, pointed at the kings.
- No… don't….
Too late, with a pop a small bullet burst from the canon and land in the wall between the two kings. From the point of impact a thick smoke spread in the room.
- Kyo! Scrams Allen.
Like a zombie I walk to the bags and take them all.
- Guards! Roars a voice.
- Stop this thief.
We rush out of the room and in the corridor where all the guards seems to have woken up and jump on us.
Before I can do a thing one of them fall on the ground, screaming in pain, a small hilt protruding from one of his eyes. Allen rapidly take it back.
- You cannot escape! Growl a deep voice behind us.
I'm scared, in shock, i can't believe what's happening.
We are running, the guards on our back, closing the gap between us.
I watch behind me, what I discover is frightening: all the guards look like beast. Their bodies are shifting, their scales darken, their eyes are white and glows of a dark aura, their form is twisting, shifting as they run after us, their claws elongate, more fangs adding to their maws, a dark saliva dripping along their chins. They look stronger, faster, more agile than before.
I understand why they said we couldn't escape.
Suddenly I feel something rising, building inside me, it's like a wave… a storm, a hurricane of pure darkness. I gasp, my breath stuck inside my throat. It fills every part of my body with a yew strength, but I feel like I'm sinking in it, drowning in this ocean of darkness.
I can't hold it back it… it's too strong, to powerful. But suddenly everything change, the flood stops, leaving me with all this uncontrolled energy to deal with.
It's… too much… I can't….
It's only at this moment I feel him, watching me from the distance but so close in my own brain. He looks amused of my desperate struggling.
For the first time I can "see" him, even if there is not much to see.
And suddenly his deep dark voice shakes my mind.
- Why are you fighting me? I'm trying to help you.
- Get out of my head. I say with a low scared voice.
He ignore me.
- You can control it, you already did it before.
- I… can't… it's… too much. Please stop. I beg.
- Breath slowly… try to calm yourself and you will see.
I try to obey and find myself in now what looks like a calm lake of energy. It's so strange to feel it. I watch around me to find out something has changed, my vision has changed Almost all appear in different shades of blue from a light blue almost white to darker tones close to black. Allen also has changed, he looks like a bright white light in this world, leaving a trail of light in his pass.
Behind us I only see a wall of darkness and dark forms moving fast.
- You see now… the truth they tried to hide from all of us.
- It… it can't be.
- There is so much you don't know. But it's not the time for it.
- Maybe but what can I do now?
- You know this answer.
- I can't… kill them.
- Kyo watch them. You see what they are. Only corrupted and twisted bodies and minds, obedient pets.
- But they are still dragon.
- They lost their own true nature long ago, they are only demons, beasts that only seek blood and power.
I know he is right and there are no other way to end this.
I have so much energy inside me now so let's use it a bit.
I channel an important portion of it in my mouth, charging a ball of pure energy, pounding slowly, radiating darkness as it grows. I aim at them and shout. It land right in front of us. For a split second nothing happen. Brutally a shockwave shakes the whole palace. In front of my amazed eyes all the guards disappear reduced to burned shreds by the violent explosion.
We rush out of the palace. By reflexes I start a fire at the entrances, black flames quickly engulf the door.
We run through the city not even watching where we are going. We leave the rich district to enter in the lower part of the city and loose ourselves in the small streets.
Watcher:
- Explain me how they managed to escape you! I roar in anger.
- They took us by surprise Watcher.
- They are more powerful and intelligent than we expected them to be.
- For me you are just more incompetent than ever.
- We failed Watcher. There is no other thing to say. We beg for the mercy of our master.
- He will be the judge of that.
Damn does everyone decided to be stupide today? I found easily the cave where they slept, I reached the city in a split second to learn they were allowed to enter and move freely when the guards had received the order to escort them. And after following their traces I find myself in front of a badly burned entrance, a blown up corridor covered of blood and burned flesh to ear those stupide whelps saying me the escaped. Am I the only one trying to work properly here?
Well at least I can follow them easily now. Without them knowing it they leave a trace behind them, something easy to follow.
The only thing I have to do, and I really love doing it, is hunting them… and it won't be hard.
Allen:
- Where are we?
- I don't know.
- You mean we are lost?
- No… give me a second.
- Ok.
- I… don't know this part of the city.
- God damn it.
- Shut up.
- What.
- Shut the fuck up! Roars Kyo.
- Why?
- Just be quiet for more than minute ok.
- Ok… ok. No need to be upset.
He start to walk faster, going into street without knowing where he is going.
- Kyo stop!
He obey with a few growls of annoyance.
- Where are you going?
- Far.
- Far from what.
- From you!
- What?
- Since I met you everything is going wrong.
- Are you sure it's because of me?
- Yes.
- Wrong. Without me you'll either be enslaved or dead.
- Without you all would have gone much better.
- No.
- Shut up. You know nothing.
- Without me Kyo you would have died in this cave or put into jail ten minutes ago.
- Perhaps but now I have all the fucking city running after me.
- After us.
- They don't care about you, you are just insignificant like the rest of your kind.
- I'm as much a danger to them as you are. I attacked them and I'm a citizen of the imperium.
- You pathetic human always thinking of yourself.
- What are you doing now Kyo? Exactly the same thing you criticize.
- Just shut up.
- I'm not gonna stay silent any longer Kyo. If you have something to say, do it now.
- I won't talk with you just go away. Go back from the shitty place that gave you life and leave me alone.
- What's wrong with you Kyo?
- Just leave me alone. He growls before walking away.
I can't believe it. He really is strange sometimes. Doesn't he understand I just saved it big scaly ass!? I run after him but he vanish in the crowd.
I search him everywhere but i only find the bags, hidden in a dark corner. Inside I find the explosives, the weapons the pieces of armor and what I first thought were only strangely curved metal plates. After a few minute of analyses I realize it's in reality parts of an armor for dragons!
- Damn it's quite light for an armor. I admit as I lift a large plate.
The only bags missing are obviously those with the eggs.
- Well how am I gonna find him now? And those fucking bags I shouldn't leave them there. God damn it Kyo I freaking hate you!
- Do you have a problem comrade? Ask someone with a really strange accent.
It takes me some time to realize he is talking to me.
- Do you have a problem with those bags?
- Yeah a big one. My master just left me here with all this fucking crap to carry to his home.
- He looks to be quite an asshole.
- I can only agree.
- Do you want some help?
- It's kind of you but I don't think we will go far with all those shits with only the two of us.
- Who said I came alone.
He turns around and yells in a strange language.
Ten other guys jump from another street and comes to us.
He quickly explain them in his weird language before asking me?
- Where does he lives?
That's a good question? I know it… I… found it in his mind but didn't cared at the time….
Finally I have an illumination, it's so obvious.
I give them the name. They look surprised and embarrassed.
- Man… it's in the other side of the city.
- It's quite a long walk to there.
- Don't worry guys. Says the guy with this weird accent. We'll use the subways.
I'm surprise, what do they mean by subways? I follow them, helping to carry as much as I can until we reach a strange door with three words written on a bronze plate "Subway, line C".
- What is this place?
- You don't know the subway?
- No… I'm pretty new here.
- I'll explain you. The city was built on a hill and underneath the ground lies a real maze of caverns. Some were modified, rails were installed until a real network was formed. Now they are used for fast merchandize transport from one side to another of the city.
- I see.
We enter a large room.
- It's a dead end!
- Not exactly.
One of the man press a metal button and the floor shakes violently beneath me.
I realize we are slowly descending. Soon chains appears around us, as we continue our descent. After long minutes of waiting on this platform we arrive in a long cavern, only lighted by small crystals in the walls. We move the bags to some sort of cart. When everything is secured in the carts we climb inside to just before one of the men start what looks like an engine. The loud noise of the motor fills our ears, ricocheting in the cave. In an instant we are moving on rails I didn't really noticed.
It takes us a dozen of minutes to reach our destination after several track changing. We take a platform similar to the first which brings us to the surface. A few minutes after we are in front of a small house, like the other at the only exception this one is completely dark inside.
- He must not be back. I suppose, trying to look natural.
- Well man it was great to help you but we have to go.
- Thank you guys. Hold on a sec I have something for you.
I search in a bag and put out ten beautiful gems.
- It's too much we can't….
- It's my pleasure to offer them to you.
After a few more talking we leave each other's in front of the house.
I push the door. It opens without resistance.
I enter to find something so horrific I freeze in place. What happened here?
………
Kyo:
Damn why everything has to go wrong today. The kings fooled me, I'm researched by all the city, he awoke at the worst moment, filling my veins with his liquid darkness. I must leave a visible trail of dark energy behind me. And if it wasn't enough I argued with Allen. Now I'm just walking in a street, too angry to even care about the others crossing my way. I finally stop after a long walk and watch around me. But I can't see. My vision is a blur of blue tones. I close my eyes and open them again. My vision is back to normal but soon the blue comes back.
- Stop this. I growl, knowing he is the cause of this dizzying vision changes.
- No.
- I'm losing patience.
- You are not in position to give me orders.
- It's my body… go away find your own.
- No.
- So just stop playing with me.
- I'm not playing Kyo, I'm trying to show you something.
- Show me what!?
- Stop resisting and you'll see the truth.
- The truth! What truth? The truth of a corrupted mind. I know why your name sounded familiar to me….
- You have no idea of what I am!
I squeal in pain as an unbearable pressure ravage my mind.
Only when I stop fighting he release his mental grasp.
Like a good obedient pet I watch around me, to freeze in horror when the true hit me.
Everything except for the sky his surrounded by a blackish fog, from ground to the highest building, passing by the plants I see in a shop nearby. Everything is corrupted, everything has already fallen inside the black.
Even the other dragon walking so close to me are more or less coated in blackness. The only ones who look kind of good are the children, only bright light in those darkness.
- It's… it's everywhere.
- You understand now.
- Yes.
- So get the fuck out of here before they find us.
- Where do I go?
- Far away from here.
- Good idea.
I take a step but the invisible force comes back.
- What again?
- You don't forget something?
- What? Him… he can just die. I don't give a fuck about him.
- Kyo… Kyo… you are a bad liar.
I watch the ground in shame.
- Admit it you like him.
- No… I… it's just a… kind of bargain.
- Kyo stop lying you are really bad at it. You didn't stop following him since you argued.
- No….
- Kyo watch around you. You know this place am I right?
- Yes.
- You know exactly where you are and where he is.
- Yes.
- So go and pick him up.
I agree in silence and start walking pretty slowly. I don't want him to see my weaknesses but realize he saw them long ago.
- Why are you so kind with me? I mean you are….
- A demon. I was, now I'm only a spirit. And to answer your question I have my reasons.
I ask nothing else.
In a few minutes he reach a home so similar to the other in shape and aspect but with the door open wide. I enter and stop, in shock. Inside it's only chaos and destruction that awaits me. On the walls and floor long claw marks, splashes of blood on the walls. I enter the main room. Everything there has been meticulously crushed. Nothing is left. I feel tears building in my eyes.
I search every rooms of the first floor just to find the same scenes of destruction.
Fear is taking a hold of me. I rush to the second floor, directly to the bedroom. When I light up the room I feel like the ground is falling below me.
I hoped it hadn't happened, I hoped they could have made it out but it was only hopes. Just in front of me, lying in a pool of their own blood are the ones I used to call my friend… my mates. The vision of their dead body's covered of wounds is too much. I break in tears, falling on the ground before them.
I feel something on my scales. I watch to find, hidden in the shadow Allen, bow in hand.
I want to speak but he makes me a sign to stay silent. I want to protest but he insist.
I obey, annoyed. Suddenly I ear noises, voices, sounds of claws on the ground. Some voices yelling things as they approach.
- Fuck…!
- He is inside!
An immense form appear in the entrance.
- You cannot escape this time.
- I'm not sure about this. Says a voice coming from the shadow.
