they don't breed in captivity well so the ones in pet stores are usually wild caught which I don't agree with sadly, but they're a really cool lizard :3

I don't like the wild-caught idea either, but admittedly I kinda want one. :P
Would they be they special maintenance as compared to normal lizards?
with a sandfish I think you just need a basic knowledge of proper heating (lights), keeping a sand terrain clean, and keeping up an insectivore diet. I feel there probably up there with the very easy maintenance lizards, but it really depends on what you've owned and if you actually do research and set the enclosure up properly and such.
also with a substrate like sand learning how to feed where they wont eat the sand and get compacted bowls is probably a need to know, but that's any reptile with a lose substrate.
I'm probably making it sound more complicated then I need to XD
I've never had a lizard before, but do understand proper care. I think it'd be pretty cool.
