Out of all the characters, he could have done worse than Fox McCloud. Also, 'airborne' is misspelt.

Fun fact, Fox McCloud's lower legs are replaced with cybernetic prosthesis, due to the G-forces from flying. Not often brought up, because it is a bit of fluff from the earliest games.

Cutting off a pilots legs wouldn't actually help with G-forces. Miyamoto admitted it was to increase running speed. You can watch it in the game theorists interview of him.
