Luck groaned softly as she slowly came to. Sitting up in her bed she yawned and stretched. She stood and rubbed her eyes as she walked forward, eyes closed. She suddenly walked into something solid. Her eyes opened quickly, to behold that there was a solid pane of glass before her. She tapped on the glass before noticing her arm. Her gaze traveled up her arm and over her body. She was wearing an orange jumpsuit. One she could have sworn she's seen before. And on her feet were special looking boots. There was a springlike piece of flexible metal under her raised heel connected to the back of the boot. "What's going on?" she asked to herself confused as she tested the springiness of the boots. "Subject No. 2 please step through the open doorway on your right." came a robotic voice above her. "Surge?" she thought to herself as a door opened on her right. She walked through the door and entered a new room. This room was completely white and the walls were made of panels. She looked around as another door opened. She turned to see Maneki walk into the room next, wearing the same orange jumpsuit and boots. "'Neki?" asked Luck relieved to see the familiar face. "Lucky? What's going on? Where" are we?" asked Maneki as Luck reached her and hugged her tightly. "I don't know. I went to sleep last night in my bed and woke up here, wherever here is." replied Luck seriously. "Subjects No. 1 and No. 2 please pay attention." came a new familiar voice all around them. "Sly?" "Master?" asked the two felines together as they tried to follow the voice futilely. It sounded like Sly but it was monotone, glitchy at times, his voice pitch raising at random intervals. "Rising in the center of the chamber is your new tool. Use them well." said the voice as a cylindrical platform rose through the parting panels in the floor, on which sat two oddly shaped handheld objects. "Suddenly Luck's mind snapped to. "Portal guns." she said almost absently. "You are correct Subject No. 2. These are Aperture Science Dual Handheld Portal Devices for the both of you." replied Sly's voice. "So you intend to put us through tests do you Sly? What if we refuse?" asked Luck seriously. "You can choose to refuse, but I'd advise against it." replied Sly as behind them a wall panel opened, revealing a white machine with an eye. It's eye emitted a targeting laser that focused on Maneki from behind. It's sides opened revealing four holes, and from these holes slithered purple tentacles. "What do you mean you'd advise against it?" asked Luck annoyed before a small voice made her ear twitch. "There you are." came the light voice as Maneki's right boot was grasped by two of the tendrils. Maneki yelped in surprise as she tripped and screamed in fear as she felt herself dragged backwards towards the machine. "A turret!" said Luck quickly, turning and grabbing Maneki's hands, trying to wrench her from the turret's grip. "I cannot force you to complete my puzzles, however I can provide you with incentive to do so. None of my puzzles are deadly, but you may find the consequences for not finishing them quickly a bit...high." said Sly's voice as the other two tendrils began to focus on Luck now. "Luck let go of Maneki to dodge the tentacles quickly. "Lucky!" shouted Maneki frightened. She could feel one of the tendrils snaking it's way up her leg inside her jumpsuit now. "The only way to save her is to..." " I know! I hate you so much." said Luck grabbing a portal device from the cylindrical platform and putting it in her right hand quickly. She dodged another grab from the tentacles and shot a light blue portal onto the wall behind the turret. She cracked a smile as she dove forward, through another grab attempt and placed a purple portal on the ground before her. She flew through into the purple portal and out the light blue portal just behind the turret. She held a sadistic smile as she grasped the wires connecting the panels to the main body and pulled them out quickly. The tentacles connected to the turret released Maneki and flailed before falling to the ground useless, the turret shutting down. "I don't blame you..." said the machine as it shut down. "Come on 'Neki. get up." said Luck hurriedly, pulling Maneki towards the platform for her device. Maneki picked up her device and grasped it in her right hand quickly. Luck pulled herself out of the upper part of her jumpsuit. "If I'm going to do this I may as well be comfortable." she said as hisses could be heard around the room. "Oh good. Now that you're both equipped and ready, we can begin." said Sly as multiple panels moved away from the walls, revealing more turrets behind them. "There you are." "I see you." they all said in unison as their lasers sights focused on the two felines. They all opened, revealing different colored tentacles in each of them. "Your first challenge, shut down all of the turrets in this room." came Sly's glitchy, yet amused voice. "Are you ready 'Neki?" asked Luck seriously. "Yes. I'll follow your lead Lucky." replied Maneki standing back to back with Luck. "Let's do this!" said Luck seriously as the tendrils began to advance on them quickly.
