Tribal Chieftain by Turret
Title can't be empty.
Title can't be empty.
Fraust Dogger is a Tribal Chieftain from a time where the bronze age is just beginning. The Ivory Fang wolf tribe has fragmented into different factions that desperately need to be reunited to survive impending warfare. The faction he leads trades primarily in jade for weapons and other goods. Unlike most tribes they worship no personal gods, but find spiritual power and majesty in the sun. As the tribe's new leader, the wolf hybrid must find a way to use strength and will to cut through the religions and political barriers that keep his fellow wolves from becoming a unified culture once again.
This was a commission from a non-furry friend of mine, Turret.
I wanted something tribal but I also wanted something very unique that didn't look Native American. I didn't want feathers, paint, bones, etc. I also wanted it to seem fit for a Chieftain and to resemble something of a "tribal armor" which for most people seemed to be taking regular armor and simply subtracting from it.
Turret spent hours with me hashing out ideas and helping to come up with concepts. I had the idea of incorporating jade, leather, and bronze. He came up with the red cloth, bamboo, and beads. The collaboration made it feel especially rewarding and I'm really happy with how everything came out. It was incredible to see my simple descriptions turned into ornate bronze crafted items and jade carvings.
