Pushing, pulling, the waves come up the shore
Taking away pieces of land for its own
The wind is silent for once
Leaving the waves, the birds, to speak out
Clouds hang around the sky
Unsure of their direction, floating aimlessly
The sun glares down
Not wanting to leave, but has too
Gulls jabber, wondering, wondering
Their thoughts occupied by their lives
Stars, shy as ever, come out slowly
And they never met each other
Never acknowledged their association with one another
As the warmth leaves, I lean onto you
And you lean against me,
Trying to be warm together.
