So I introduced my boyfriend to the little animal representation I gave him. I was a bit unsure and I was hoping he didn't think I was weirder than he already does. I told him what animal it was, talking a bit about it and he looked up pictures and he said, "Ugh! They're all ugly!" And I said, "Don't worry sweetie. I got your back - I made you cute." And I showed him the last drawing and he approved and liked the name as I had suspected. :]

So he wasn't weirded out by the whole idea which made me feel better. I told him that I was excited about illustrating how we interact together through weird little animals and when I said that, I was thinking about the drawing I made here.

This encompasses a lot of our recreational behavior in the relationship with him tormenting me and me squealing. He truly gives me great insight into what it would be like to have a brother. He loves getting me to scream and in a weird way, I enjoy it...to an extent I guess...Let's just say I would be sad if he stopped torturing me as strange as that sounds.

When we first started dating, I got this feeling like he wasn't romantic at all which kind of bothered me since I am used to dating bleeding hearts. It turns out that he is actually more romantic than I thought and he continues to surprise me. When I told him that I was excited to draw us interacting, his suggestion was to draw him and me with his wings wrapped around me. Sooo sweet (:] I was feeling kind of uneasy about doing more romantic like drawings and showing him because I just felt so strange. So it made me feel better that that was his suggestion for a drawing :)

Anyway, I am so super glad I thought of "manticore." I love them, but never really had a reason to draw them. Now that I have, I have a feeling that I am going to be drawing this little guy a bunch. He's so freakin' cute.

Never drew webbed wings before! Or drew a scorpion tail for that matter. Time to learn something new.
