Ido'Aman: Dragon
Title can't be empty.
Title can't be empty.
Introduction:
Addressed as “He/him”, gender is Male.
Has a habit of communicating through means other than voice.
Dualistic, paradoxical and unpredictable nature.
Skittish, and vulnerable to genuine expressions of intimacy and innocence.
Tries very hard to be “live normally”.
Nature:
A form of the Ido’Aman as a six-limbed dragon. This form manifests as an earthy desire to “live as a mortal”, despite their immense powers. They are naturally wandering flyers who soar across worlds, be it in the shadow of darkness or the glare of light. Sometimes, they can even lose their sense of selves by indulging on the desire to the extreme. Presence is hard to notice, unless when willing to be seen.
Physical and Anatomical Features:
Size: Quadrupedal shoulder height around 1.8m (6ft)
Weight: Around 200kg (440lbs)
Body length: Around 12m from nose to tail tip (40ft)
Wing Span: Around 16m (52ft)
Note: All are variable, due to the innate ability to even change size and respective weight.
A furred six-limbed dragon with a hint of characteristics from Eastern counterparts, giving a stature similar to a canine but with a longer torso. Much of the body coat is in white, save for the black in extremities and body patterns. The edges of leathery membranes are tinted in yellow, that fades with distance. Eyes are coloured in a deeper shade of aquamarine.
Forehead is marked with black fur that runs down the snout before ending near the nostrils. There are short white tuffs of fur on both brows, with a yellow crescent-shaped marking behind the eye typical for the true species. There is a very short goatee underneath the chin, with extra overgrown tuffs of fur behind the cheeks that also give a slightly puffy appearance.
Wears a crown of four short stubby horns with a black glossy upper surface and a white underside, and sports a pair of tufted ears with black external surfaces. These ears are flexible and can be raised or lowered in emotion, same like his long neck crest consisting of long and soft fur. Such fur also covers the shoulders and rump, with a shorter and fluffier variant on the chest.
Bears a dental set like a carnivore which also allows some chewing, with two sharp upper fangs that protrude from lips slightly when mouth is shut. Doesn't bear anything impressive of a bite, even if ever considering such a thing. Has a bifurcated tongue that is short but enough to offer licks or a blep, and the saliva acts as a disinfectant with a strange cooling sensation.
Tail tip, paws, and wing markings are covered by a very soft scales that look like skin, giving an appearance of a slightly glossy black leatherwear. The black fur coat is smooth with a slight lustre. Flight membranes are leathery and flexible, with soft undersides and upper surfaces covered in soft scales that resemble skin. His sensitive neck frills are delicate, with black ribbing on the outside.
All limbs have 5 digits, armed with razor sharp claws. The forelimbs could serve as hands, with opposable thumbs that are only slightly less flexible than an anthropomorphic counterpart. They are permanently equipped with the Black of the Shadow ingrained with jewelled emblems, being one of the focal points for the manifestations of abilities.
Able to walk in both bipedal and quadrupedal stances, but with the quadrupedal stance giving a natural advantage for the feral stature. Requires the tail for balancing while in a bipedal stance for an awkward walking manner. Agile enough to sprint, leap, pounce, and climb, in a quadrupedal stance. Adept in swimming naturally, but not preferred due to a potential wet mess on the fur.
The bat-like wings lacking finger claws have a white underside, with black diamond-shaped markings on the topside. Such patterns are also replicated on skirt membranes. Each wing has 5 digits; 2 well-developed wing claws, and 3 additional fingers modified into flaps connected by a leathery membrane of foldable skin and muscle.
The wings are typically folded tightly when not in use, to offer a streamlined leverage. The wing claws on each side rest on their respective shoulders with the wing flaps tucked away, to give an appearance reminiscent of a droopy cape. They are as strong as the other limbs, offering extra leverage for locomotion and even useful for delivering punches.
The tail is strong yet prehensile, offering balance while flying and support while grounded. It could even be wrapped around an overhang to support the entire body’s weight while sleeping upside-down (albeit uncomfortable). The tail tip is slightly stiff, and dextrous enough to be used like a paintbrush or a flyswatter. It is usually kept from touching the ground when idle, for cleanliness.
Blood is bright red in colour, which can show in flushes when blushing. When spilled, it quickly evaporates into nothingness and briefly leaves behind a faint sweet smell. All bodily fluids all hold a similar property of rapid evaporation. The rest of the inner anatomy present appears relatively similar to those of living creatures, yet still holding properties of the true species.
Despite appearing to have lightly-built physique adapted for speed and agility, it is only a physical form that hides the intangible true nature of a shapeshifter. This physical form could be warped by innate abilities to perform feats that defy its physical limits. But ultimately, some physical features would persist through transformations, being integral extensions of one’s nature.
Ability Manifestation:
NULL: Present, Dominant
Dream Bubble: Present, Weak
Transcendence: Present, Strong
Holds the power of NULL in Black and White, integral to the true species. It is embedded in this form like any other, only limited by creativity and willpower. The manifestation of his power is influenced by emotion and mood, with limitless methods of application. Hence, it is highly unpredictable and deep in mystery.
The Black aspect of the Shadow primarily manifests on focal points on the body, holding the related colour. The power is psychic and invisible in nature, and can violate all concepts of reality by stretching them into infinity. Powers are typical of the true species, only limited by preference in sticking conveniently to the anatomy of the physical profile.
The entire physical form is still liable to the influence of said powers. This allows shapeshifting if required, or exert physical capabilities way above the physical limits of the form. The most frequent application can be something as rudimental as changing the stiffness of the wing membranes, which can be folded like a cape or hardened into cleaving blades when in battle.
The White aspect lies in the breath, powered by the flame of life force. The raw form manifests as blue-white flames with a very pale tinge of violet-pink, which can be projected in great force like a laser beam. The unrestrained element is pure chaos, but can be shaped into various powers of creation via willpower to generate any form of “magic” only limited by creativity.
The power of White requires more conscious control and focus than Black, the more natural counterpart. Unsurprisingly, the power of Black can directly interact with the flames. This also grants a natural form of near-instant regeneration when injured, unless mentally weakened. This power can even be exploited to instantly groom simply by reforming a pristine condition…
Scale of power is unknown, even if limits imposed by the physical form are present.
