It's called "Persepolis". It's an autobiography of a woman who grew up in revolutionary Iran, as well as some schooling in Europe, told in comic form. It was also made into an animated movie, which is how I found out about the story after seeing it on TVO (that's like Ontario's version of PBS, FYI) one night. Anyway, I got it as a Christmas gift for my grandmother on my father's side, and since I've been meaning to read the story anyway, I've been reading the story on the bus-ride to and from collage every day. It's a damn good story, the kind of comic I would recommend to non-comic readers (hence why I got it for my grandmother in the first place).

Genetically, all of the hybrids in the story are part human. Reference the discussion that Stan and Georgette had in the cab:
"Have you forgotten that WE are part human?"
We will learn much more about this situation in days to come.
