Republic XF-91 Thunderceptor - USAF Museum 04-18-2017
The Republic XF-91 Thunderceptor was America's first rocket powered fighter aircraft to exceed the speed of sound. Along with its turbojet engine, it was capable of climbing at a rate of 30,000 feet per minute (~10,000 meters per minute).
