Thank you! :) I guess the texture comes from the pastel crayon paper and the pastel crayons. So getting these textures was just mere coincidence. :)

either way, the choice of media works well. You could have used simple computer paper or notebook paper, but you chose not too...

Well, I always use some special paper ... it's pastel crayon paper, bristol paper, watercolor paper, canvas paper ... etc.
I think you can get the best results if you just try different media on different kinds of paper. :)

I never visited any art school if you mean that, all my "skills" are self-taught. This style is easily done: Just ground the whole picture with pastel crayons and then secure them. After that just add the details with colored pencils and you're done. :)
