Miki
Title can't be empty.
Title can't be empty.
Here's Miki, although her name in Inupiatun (the language spoken by the Inupiat, one of the Inuit tribes that inhabit Alaska's North Slope and west coast) means "little", she has inherited her grandfather Nunataq's abilities as a powerful angakkuq, or shaman, and she will take his place when it is time.
Her granfather is pictured in the upper right of the image with his quilaut, the thin hoop drum common among the Inuit people. At the top is the aurora, and in the upper left you can see a traditional igloo with a sled and a few dogs. In the lower left is a spirit of a wolf, and in the lower right is the White Bear, the First Spirit of Creation (it's not a polar bear).
I drew this using my usual mechanical pencils (0.5mm and 0.3mm), graphite stick, and shading tools on Georgia-Pacific "Everyday Copy & Print" paper. The title I added using Windows Paint.

Nope, sure didn't. I'll have to look that place up on the map. :)
They are a cool people by all accounts. :)
