I can socialize, but I like to use my time on the plane to catch up on my writing.
I think it's sad. I think that it's one reason that we don't see each other as human beings.
As to our relationship, it was......complex. I am glad that we sorted through it during his lifetime. He was not a perfect father, but then, neither was I a perfect son. I am glad to have had him for a father; I hope I made him proud. In the end, I think Dan Fogelberg said it best:
"Thank you for the music, and your stories of the road
Thanks you for my freedom, when it came my time to go
Thank you for the kindness, and the times that you got tough
and Papa, I don't think I said 'I love you' near enough"
