Rejection in the Candle-Light
Title can't be empty.
Title can't be empty.
((Comments Taken from DA))
(Maria's -right- POV)
With everything that was happening, the urgency of it all, this had to be the last thing I'd expected to happen. I still couldn't find myself looking at Kiana as anything more than a good friend, a sister. She'd been there to help me when I'd joined the pack... then I'd hurt her, hadn't seen her in days... her turning up, wanting to help was shocking enough.
There's still a tingle on my lips, my arms. It feels like a burn, when it reminds you it’s there. There are also butterflies fluttering in my stomach. I don't know why these are here, I've never felt this way before and I'd had more than my fair share of kisses over the years, mainly from guys but still; how was it different kissing guys knowing I don't like them and being kissed by Kiana knowing I don't like her? There wasn't, so why did it feel different?
(Kiana's -left- POV)
She likes me, I know she does. Why does she keep rejecting me with every move I make towards her? She nearly kissed me that one time, if I hadn't gotten nervous, run away, well, things might be completely different. I somehow doubt it though, she doesn't want to let me know she likes me, even if she'd kissed me, she would have found a way to talk herself out of it meaning anything.
I can't cry over this, there's no reason to cry. I'll keep trying and maybe one day she'll get over this stupid denial fear whatever it is and we could try and be something. I'll try getting involved in this, killing the hunter, make it safer for her even if it does mean working with my weird insane uncle. When she feels safe, maybe I can find a way to get her back into the pack. I doubt it but still, it can't hurt trying. The Alpha really isn't that bad of a guy...

I FINISHED THIS! (: I spent roughly 26.5hrs on this, so happy to be finished with it.
It's based off a scene from last year's NaNoWriMo novel of mine. Sadly, I lost the novel in January but I could remember this scene well and I wanted to have it out there, somehow, so art rather than writing works. The couple of paragraphs from both character's heads were a last minute addition, by the way.
In the novel, Kiana is a regular lycan and Maria is a Makulay Lycan. They're practically werewolves that shift into full normal-sized wolves. Kiana's shifting is controlled by the moon but Maria's is by will, she can shift whenever. The main difference between the normal and Makulay lycans apart from shifting is fur colouring as normal lycans have natural colouring but Makulays (makulay actually meaning colourful in some other language) have unnatural, colourful fur in their wolf forms.
I decided I'd draw them as they would look as anthros for this scene and it came out quite well in my opinion. (In the actual scene they were in human form.) Maria's colouring scared me at first, and it took me at least 3 hours just to get the sketch right for how she was sitting but I got it in the end. I had to redraw Kiana's ears completely after I had finished Kiana (I drew her first) and I'm still not happy with them, they seem too small now but at least the look less ugly than the first attempt looked. Oh, and I completely and totally messed up all lighting and shadows/highlights!
So yeah, don't steal. This is completely my work and stealing is bad. (I have a hungry pack of werewolves!) Also, don't use the idea of the Makulay Lycans at all in any way, they're my creation as well. Okay? Okay. (:
