Vacation with Aliens

The two otters, Rye and Cloud, have lived a rather simple life lately with no worries or bothers. Their curiosity though led them to meet two furred aliens from another universe. Those two were from the race called Rectans and were named Zonda and Alpha.
The otters live in an underground home bordering a lake that they often swim in but the two alien visitors were not so comfortable around water. It was quite the feat to get them into a small hot tub and even then the red-eyed Alpha is hesitant to stay in the water; especially when Cloud is being a bit mischievous with the hose.
The aliens from the Rectan race and the otters of Canidera all quickly became friends. Rye and Cloud had fun trying to teach the two Rectans to be comfortable around water. In their playful curiosity of the alien friendly Rectans, the otters were also able to observe and appreciate how Zonda and Alpha cared for each other, even if it was something as harmless as approaching the treacherous still waters of the hot tub. In turn, the Rectans curiosity of the Canideran otters had allowed for them to see that the otters cared for one another in the same way that the Rectans did for each other. The light-hearted attitude of the otters would have been difficult to not come to appreciate.
Sharing many nights under the safe shelter, these four came to learn much about each other. Learning about their pasts, their hardships, their triumphs and their love, allowed for them to be very close friends and that their visits to each other would often last for significantly longer than the previous visit. Maybe one day a visit to the Rectans' homeworld, or to the otters' homeworld, will become permanent.
Rye the pale blue otter and Cloud the white otter are both characters in my story titled Tropical. Alpha, the red-eyed Rectan and Zonda, the yellow-eyed Rectan are two characters part of 's story titled D.E1
