Nyrina - Star Wars

*STAR WARS THEME STARTS PLAYING, The Clone Wars Episode Begins*
"Only together are we at our strongest." - Ancient Norlinthian Saying
++++++
A galaxy divided! Across the reaches of space, the forces of both the sinister Separatists and the valiant Republic are struggling to maintain if not establish influence throughout the many worlds in the various rims. Bit by bit, the Separatists and their endless droid armies have been battering away at the numbers as well as willpower of their freedom believing rivals.
Nevertheless, although bruised and weary, although having been beaten back, although facing an enemy unlike any they've ever seen, the Rebuplic's clone armies and politicians stand firmly up to their foes. The Republic, founded by many brave hearts and led on the glorious planet of Coruscant by the idea of justice as well as freedom through democracy, fights back with every fiber of its being. For it has one thing that its competition does not in securing worlds, in keeping the peace, in bringing about victory; the powerful Jedi along with their wise council.
Reaching out in the name of democracy and hopes for peace, the Jedi have been stretched thin amongst the struggling Republic clone forces; holding back the droids, liberating captured civilizations, confirming the true standing of what being a "Jedi" truly means. But has all of their valiant if not powerful fighting been the best for the galaxy? Or could it prove to be its very undoing?
Far out in one of the more isolated reaches of neutral space, the planet of Norlinth and its Norlinthian people have always looked after its force sensitive companions on the moon, the Felldewans of Felldew. There, for hundreds of years, beyond the Jedi Council's control, Felldew's own leaders have trained their young in the many ways of understanding the force and using it for their own good. Constantly watching, remaining on high alert, the Norlinthians have protected their moon of Felldew from all harm; knowing that Jedi or perhaps worse could create a terrible influence and change all that they know.
Allied closely with powerful Mandolor, leader of the neutral planets, Norlinth and its moon of Felldew - Norlinthian and Felldewan alike - have not experienced a disturbance during the Clone Wars. There has been peace. Only that. Yet, as it is said, nothing lasts forever.
During the latest scuffle and battle between dreadnoughts, the Republic's forces have picked up a garbled but dire message sent between droid ships; a message hinting towards a possible Separatist plan involving Norlinth and Felldew. Worse yet, the infamous General Grievous is involved with the plot. And nothing involving the feared, Jedi hunting, cyborg general can ever be good for anyone.
Feeling shocked if not worried that perhaps the isolate Norlinthians and their force sesitive Felldewan allies could possibly be conspiring with the droids, maybe even being targeted by General Grievous without knowing it, the Republic is quick to send out some of its best heroes to hopefully save the day and keep terrible bloodshed from occurring. On their way now to the wealthy planet of Norlinth protecting lush Felldew is General Anakin Skywalker accompanied by his padawan, Ahsoka Tano, and fellow General Kenobi.
As they near the planet of Norlinth and its moon of Felldew, shining orbs of green-blue against the darkness of space, the Jedi might very well be the last hope of the Republic securing victory against the Separatists. They know this. What they also know... is that there is a shadow here that they cannot seem to pinpoint but are ever ready to discover.
The dark side is strong here. In the name of peace, of balance, of democracy, of Norlinth and Felldew, the Jedi must prove to be stronger.

Ha ha, I don't know if any of you watched Star Wars: The Clone Wars on Cartoon Network like I did when it was out, or like I do now on Netflix, but I remember thinking that the series wasn't going to be anything good but childish. I mean, it was an animated series based in a kid like network where the most random of things and shows were featured - Regular Show, Ed Edd n Eddy, Amazing World of Gumball, so on - and I couldn't take most anything seriously there. Ha ha. But honestly, the animated cartoon series really surprised me in the best possible manner and I found myself seeing the Star Wars series in a whole new light. It even got me thinking about what if my world of Felldew were somehow involved.
BAM! Within a day or so, I already plotted out that Norlinth - inhabited with the humanoid Norlinthians - would be a massive lush world of endless wealth and resources, with its moon holding the anthro Felldewans. Yet, where the human like Norlinthians were experienced in militaristic things like weapons, armor, keeping a strict code, the Felldewans instead grew to be like the Jedi. Being something like animals, having a sixth sense, it made sense to me that they'd be more than likely force sensitive. And due to that, they'd be possible warriors of the force.
But by being such warriors, being fighters sensitive to the force, Felldewans were sure to come under attack or be visited by higher force users; not all of them good. As we know, during the Clone Wars, there was a certain sith lord hiding amonsgt the jedi and being the leader of Coruscant during it all. Palpatine might very well like to have Felldew learn his ways. And that's what inspired my idea for a possible Clone Wars episode involving the hated General Grievous and jedi Anakin, Kenobi and Ahsoka competing for the attention of Norlinth.
The goal? To have Norlinth either stay out of the war or join it. The Jedi do not look for war, only peace. They come with the message that Grievous is not trustworthy, who is all over having the Norlinthians - accompanied by felldewans - fight in the name of the Separatists; to help them be free of the Republic. One of the figures brought into the argument/council of this debate is none other than Nyrina herself. A force sensitive otter girl who is tasked with watching over the younglings; Felldew's force sensitive children protected in a facility in Norlinth. Helping Nyrina is Ivan, a Norlinthian warrior of many skills.
Ivan and Nyrina in Star Wars for the win. But let's just say that when the Norlinthian leaders inform Grievous that they'll consider the sides of both the Separatists and Republic, the cyborg general doesn't take kindly to indecision. Using his own sneaky ways of infiltration, he has an army of droid to make "accidents" happen on Norlinth. And as these accidents occur, it comes down to Nyrina, Ivan, Obi-Wan, Anakin and Ahsoka to keep this part of Neutral space from falling into hell.

Nyrina is owned by me, Felldewan, of course.
Star Wars is Star Wars, owned by George Lucas. Oh no... or is it Disney now. Ha ha. Oh dear. :/

Sadly though, it, along with things like the Thunder Cats reboot, Young Justice, and a few others were actually good, well thought out shows, all from Cartoon Network. But, they were apparently too dark and serious, and had to be promptly replaced with drugged out happiness! Yay no plots! Yay no serious bad guys! Yay no intelligence!
*ahem* Ranting and Nostalgia aside, this is really well devised, and does invoke a lot of the feel of the show. Plus Nyrina looks pretty damn good as a part of the SW universe. The way her usual tribal look was turned into a sort of body armour works really well. Now she just needs to be careful with that saber!
I do feel like everything was grandly realistic or cool at the start of the series, even for Cartoon Network. There were deaths, there was sadness, there was actual tension where you didn't know if the heroes were going to win or not. There was plenty of plot, potential, power to the episodes being shown in the earlier seasons. I very much liked the additional material that didn't focus on Anakin and Obi-Wan or people from the movies, because you already knew them. Like Ahsoka, Luminara, other jedi fighting across the galaxy.
The clone episodes were the BEST. They showed you the soldiers' point of view and despite them having the same face every day, the clones actually had identities and separate lives. They were more individual than I predicted, and were aware of their roles as "fodder" for blasters. They didn't choose their lives, but made due where they could. And the episodes showcasing them was very eye opening. :)
Thank you for your thoughts and opinion. I was hoping I was going with the series and keeping to the roots with the dialogue. I listened to that intro "A GALAXY DIVIDED" so many times, ha ha. And Nyrina's design was made by myself, her armor I mean. It looks very cool, and Nelami did a more than awesome job of bringing it to life. :)
And I did love the way you could tell the clones apart, even though they were, well, clones.
Talek the Winged Wolf
PS. love Nyrina's new armor style it definatly suits her.
P.S - Nyrina appreciates the compliment. She found the suit a bit tight. But she looks awesome with that sabre, so it's all good. :)
Though I must admit, one thing always bothered me with Star Wars. Surely one as wise as Yoda could use what is considered the "dark" side of the force for good? After all, Force Choke is simply Force Grab focused on one's neck and Force Lightning could be used to jump start a faulty sand speeder or something. It is not the Force abilities themselves that are dark, simply the ones using them. Besides couldn't the Jedi Mind Trick be considered evil if not wrong? I mean you are using psychic-like powers to control others, that doesn't exactly scream "justice" to me.
I can already hear some peoples' response "But the dark side would still be all about power and evil." This is true, but it no longer would be the dark side of the FORCE and just the dark side of (for lack of a better term) human nature. You wouldn't have Sith Lords but rogue Jedi. It wouldn't be the dark side of the Force that corrupted them, but their own inner turmoil/greed/lust for power/whatever and this sort of thing happens in the real world all the time, can anyone say "dirty cop?"
OK rant over.
Happy hunting,
Draro
P.S. Totally agree the Felldewans would be the more Force-minded ones of the bunch. You can't find the force unless you stop and just feel things. Granted your Norlinthians don't necessarily not do that, but they are very militaristic and very likely to overlook the signs of the Force calling out to them due to their single-minded pursuit of their duty.
The powers of lightning, choke, push, pull, mind read, leap, the Gray Users use them by their own rules and know what they wish to do. They live mostly by themselves but can grow together. The force is a power that takes time to control, and is very powerful. So there is plenty to learn. In the Old Republic, my Sith was in fact a warrior who followed all good parts of the force which would lead him to the Gray Area and he did what he did because he wanted to. Gray Users are people who follow their own goals, as you described. They have their own goals and have a narrow vision, not the whole world is their concern. They love people, leading them to focus on those said people.
Thank you for your thoughts about how Felldew and Norlinth would fit in the Star Wars Universe, Draro. Good to hear from you. :)
*Non-Jedi* "We need to get a battery to activate this shield generator, but where are we going to find one in the middle of a battlefield?"
*Jedi Master* "Fear not, the Force is with us this day" *Uses Force Lightning to activate the shield generator*
...
Gah, there I go ranting again, sorry about that
