Bearded war axe
Title can't be empty.

And now for something completely different.
first non-character thing I've done here, not sure how prevalent the crafting community is on sofurry, but it's worth a shot anyway.
______
At work I found some giant saw blades sitting in the office, the kind that fit those industrial chop saws that cut through a four-by-four faster than you can blink. They were old and headed for the scrap bin so I rescued them. After I figured out they could be heat-treated to hold a decent edge, I cut one up to make this.
Everything on this was made from scrap material except the nails holding the banding on.
Thanks to those who took note of my incompetence with Runic and lent a hand, unfortunately some of the runes are kinda hard to see in the picture.
Oh, and yes, the cheese wedge was completely necessary.

Judging by the items around it, I'm guessing 1', 1.5' or so in size?
The handle is 22" total length, the blade edge is 10.5"
It's just a hair to big for me to wield one-handed, though if you're a viking it would probably be quite nicely sized.
Very cool you made it from nothing but scrap, too.
Also, I love the whole set up. Especially the horn. And the cheese wedge definitely completes it.
I showed the axe to my neighbor and he didn't want to put it down.
Sadly my current workshop doesn't allow for mass production and I feel bad charging high prices for stuff.
That horn is actually poplar wood from a pallet, though it was made to look like a horker tusk lamp from Elder Scrolls.
I know at the Ren Fair I go to every year, there are two main weapon shops, with quite a few minor ones. Their stuff at the best one sells for many thousands. Their blacksmith holds world records for things like most tatami mats sliced through with a single blow, and most mats sliced in a certain amount of time, and so on. And he uses his own weapons for that stuff. So needless to say, it goes for crazy prices lol. Of course so does the fact that their swords are all Damascus steel lol.
Lol, that's pretty awesome work on the horn as well though! It definitely looks like that.
