KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS
“You can’t just run things like this! You must have order!” the man says. He’s a human man in a suit with space patterns on it. He looks like he’s made of space itself. Stars twinkle within him. He has thick rimmed, square glasses and his eyes are bright like stars. He has no pupils or any other details in his eyes. They’re just burning, bright white lights. He stares at the large raven before him. The raven laughs at the man. It’s mixed with some raven caws as well.
“Why can’t I?” The raven asks, amused at the man. The raven is rather large, double the size of the man. He stands on space itself with his massive talons. His claws gleam a beautiful silver that reflect space well. His feathers are a deep, smooth black that merge almost perfectly with each other, creating a sleek coat of feathers. His eyes are a bright, glowing yellow that don’t resemble a raven’s eyes. They’re slits, like a cat’s eyes. He stares at the man with them.
“Because! You leave your creatures unregulated and they could cause problems!”
“So let them. It’s entertaining.”
“This is why all the crazy shit happens to your sector!”
“I know! I told you, it’s entertainment.”
“Do you even care for your subjects!?”
“Of course I do.” the raven says, raising an eyebrow as if that was obvious.
“Then why don’t you moderate them and guide them?”
“I do guide some.” The raven says. “But most don’t believe I exist. So why should I help them?”
“You’re supposed to be helping them!”
The raven shrugs his big wings and turns toward earth.
“They can do what they want.” He says.
“They need something to keep them from self destruction!”
“No, they don’t. They’ll bring it upon themselves. I fail to see how that’s my responsibility.”
“You’re their creator. It’s your role to do so.”
The raven stares at the man.
“You’re no fun.” He finally says.
The man scoffs and rubs the bridge of his nose underneath his glasses.
“And what of the other planets?”
“Haven’t touched ‘em yet.”
“What!? You’re supposed to be populating this place!”
“But why?”
“Because the guide says so.”
The raven laughs at the man.
“Why would I listen to him?”
“You’re supposed to!”
“Says who?”
The man doesn’t say anything. He doesn’t know. In fact, he can’t even think of why he’s doing this for a moment. But the doubt quickly leaves his mind. He knows this is what he’s meant to do.
“Just do your job!”
“I didn’t sign up for this. I was willed into existence just like you. I’ve my own free will, just like my subjects.”
The man gets frustrated and falls silent again as he looks over earth. His eyes widen a bit as he notices something.
“Who is that!?”
“Oh, him? He’s one of the ones I guide. He follows me closely.” The raven says.
“Why has he LIVED FOR 300 YEARS!?”
The raven chuckles at the man’s anger.
“Because I like him.”
“How did you even convince death to let this slide!?”
“I just annoyed him till he let me.” The raven smirks cheekily.
“Why are you so difficult?”
“Why are you so tense?” The raven seems to be enjoying annoying the man.
The cosmic being groans and looks back at the mortal. He squints and notices something else.
“Are you...you’re giving him SOME OF YOUR POWER!?”
The raven laughs again.
“Calm down. He’s not a god like us. He is the most powerful being alive at the moment, however. Minus some of the full beasts and monsters that roam the earth.”
“You can’t just give out your power like candy!”
“Might I remind you that he’s still a mortal being? He’s almost been killed several times.”
“Yes, and instead of letting death take him, you’re protecting him.”
“Oh no, I’ve only protected him once or twice. This is all him.” The raven smirks again.
“Argh you need to let him die! This is far longer than any mortal should live!”
“I’m letting him live for one reason.”
“And what’s that?”
“He deserves it.”
“You can’t just pick favorites.” The man states, frustrated.
“Again, says who? This is my sector to rule as I wish, yes? Why don’t you go to sector one and moderate there. We all know that guy needs it more than me.”
“Other sectors are none of your business.”
“So be it. Just leave me, will you?”
The man grits his teeth.
“The guide will hear about this!”
“Sure sure. Just leave me alone.” The raven smirks as he knows he’s getting under the man’s skin.
The man disappears from the sector and leaves the raven.
“Oh, he’s praying again.” The raven says before listening in.
