While I'd prefer that, it was actually in the upper 50's today. Mostly, what you see is a snowbank the plow left behind last week.

Not this year, anyway!
Fast yes, but dangerous, too. A good friend was flying across open country, when he went off a 20 foot drop that disappeared in the snow. Got a compression fracture of the spine.

Maybe he was a bit reckless going that fast on unknown terrain. Rule number 1 for any motorized transportation, don't drive faster then the speed at which you can stop before any sudden danger. Driving on unknown terrain require very slow speed. While it seem obvious, forgetting that rule is often the cause of accident.

His he now ok?

Oh, sure. That was before he hiked the Appalachian trail. The ENTIRE trail. Straight through, Georgia to Maine. He4's a pretty prudent rider. He's one of the few people I'd get on the back of a bike with. Some stuff is just dangerous.

Hike the Entire trail!! How long did it take him? That is one thing I would have loved doing in my youth. Unfortunately my friends were not into that sort of thing. *Chuckle* Today, I'm just too old, too fat, and too out of shape to do that... It would just take me years just to be back into a condition that would be acceptable for such endeavor. Unfortunately, my business would just not permit me to devote so much time toward that goal. I guess there is a time for everything. :-)

Years ago, as a young lawyer, I liked living in the 'burbs as opposed to an apartment, so I did house shares. That's when I met Roy. Roy is the ultimate free spirit- handyman, philosopher, jack off all trades. He'd work long enough to do what he wanted, then he was off on an adventure- riding across Canada, or doing the entire Appalachian trail, solo at once. Today, Roy came into a few bucks, and has some property in Vermont, a lake cabin in upstate New York, and spends the winter with the nudists in Florida. We catch up with each other as time and our lives allow. He always insisted he was looking for the right girl to settle down with. I respectfully disagreed. He has his perfect life. I did convince him to buy a Miata, which truly made his life complete.
