There once was a time
When humanity was small
And there was no crime
Oh in this time before the fall
Here we struggled for life
Here our power was slight
We had neither gun nor knife
Here we endured our plight
Coyote would share his tales
Around our meager fire pit
Of his adventurous trails
And we did listen and sit
Fox was cunning and fast
To sneak beneath night's guise
And steal the food of our repast
He kept us sharp for surprise.
But now we stand with noses high
And claiming the mountains tall,
Then our respect for nature did die
Oh in this time of our fall.
No longer do we listen to her
The sweet mother of earth.
Instead vast troubles we stir
Destroying her with mirth.
Now we sit beneath a throne
Its masters lead us by the nose,
They'll pick this world to the bone
And draw our time to a close.
They pervade the whole of our society
Who among us can open their eyes
To acknowledge this forced Propriety
Of the circling wolves and their lies?
