Boeing P-26A Peashooter - USAF Museum 04-18-2017
Title can't be empty.
Title can't be empty.
It must have been pretty bad after WW I when all the USAAF had to use was a Peashooter. ;-D
This was the US Army's first all-metal monoplane fighter that saw widespread service. I do not know how well it compared to its contemporaries of the early 1930s, but by the time of its retirement starting in 1938, it was probably hopelessly outclassed.
The aircraft is also notable for being the last to have an open cockpit and fixed landing gears, features already obsolete when it was introduced.
