Procyonine Jazz
Title can't be empty.

For the final in my aural skills IV class, I had to create a melody to accompany a chord progression given to us by the instructor. Again to make the assignment easier on myself I decided to do the project in a jazz standard style with just a lead sheet and notating the melody. Of course, just like my previous jazz piece i HAD to go back and rework it with my own original chord progression to accompany the melody I already wrote. I even worked out some more technical orchestration in this piece and also recorded a live guitar solo instead of just using MIDI instruments for the solos.
about those orchestrations... holy cow! it took me HOURS of work to figure out chord voicings and how i wanted the harmony lines to accompany the melodic line. overall I am pleased with the work though, and after working on 2 jazz pieces because of homework assignments, I was inspired to write a jazz standard by my own volition, without using a school assignment as a template. be on the lookout for some more jazz songs in the future!
