Twisty Breeze
Title can't be empty.
Title can't be empty.
Twisty Breeze
Pegasus
Female
Cutiemark: Hurricane with three lightning bolts away from eye.
Pale pink fur with silver mane and tail.
Twisty was born in Cloudsdale, but left soon after due to unfortunate weather anomalies that tended to surround her. Bad weather had a habit of following her wherever she would roam, and she came to detest those around her, as she would often be blamed for heavy rain or wind, even though older Pegasus were the ones in control. She does not have many friends amongst the townsponies; only getting along with the quietest and most accepting of those around her, namely her weather team and Saddleblaze, the town’s best fire-fighter.
Other than this, she grew up as a healthy young filly; enjoying the sunshine when she could catch it and learning to soar with the best of them, her twisty mane and tail creating peculiar wakes that caused clouds to spiral into fantastic curled patterns. Still she never truly felt alive in the air, nor on land, until a fateful night when the town she and her family had moved to was hit by bad weather. Heavy winds from the Everfree Forest blew the notoriously noxious weather from the forest over the town, and the town’s weather Pegasi were unable to stop the storm from hitting before it did.
The storm had been so bad that some ponies were bowled over by the powerful winds, and rain caused the town’s lake to overflow down the cosy burg’s roads. It was a storm unlike any seen in the town since records began. The tallest object in the town, an ancient oak, was split down the middle by lightning, and thunder made windows and building tremble. With the old oak split down the middle, the only other object high enough for lightning to strike was the town hall, within which a ball had been held during the day and many of the townsponies hid from the terrible weather.
Despite the wishes of her parents, Twisty hurried through the flooding town to the town hall, where she flew to the roof and through the clouds, creating a hole that lasted only a moment before closing up again. Eyeing the size of the storm, she returned to the dark blinding mists of the cloud and flew in circles around the town.
Impressively, her wake caused the storm to swirl, opening up an eye above the town hall which kept it safe from what was to come. After a minute or two of endless loops, she dove for the largest open area she could find, hitting the ground and grounding herself.
She woke the next morning in pain, unsure of what had happened to her, only that she could barely move and her entire body shook. One of the town’s nurses, Nurse Crimsondrop, informed her that she’d done something amazing, yet foolish. The otherworldly nurse, summoned by a magic spell gone awry, told her that she’d saved the town hall, but her flight through the storm had charged her, and when she touched the ground the storm had discharged every volt of electricity it had through her, using her body as a grounding rod. In consequence, she had suffered first and second degree electrical burns to thirty percent of her body, and until it healed she would be unable to fly, as the wind currents alone would hurt enough to render her immobile.
Her Cutiemark, while not telling the full tale of her skill, is at least a good indicator; Twisty has an unusual and innate knowledge of extreme weather, and she has shown on occasions after this that she can control such extreme weather with apt skill, and she has become one of Trottingham’s ‘Extreme Condition’ weather team.
Since the appearance of her Cutiemark, the plague of bad weather which hounded her for years has faded completely, and not reared its ugly head.
