Lady Pren-Dre'ana - Color Portrait
Here's Lady Pren-Dre'ana, the Head Mistress of the Mûr Tua’ansa Star Empire's Diplomatic Circle (she's their equivalent of a Secretary of State, so a very high-level government official). She's only mentioned in my story, "[i]Daggers of Darkness - Into the Black[/i]", though she actually has more of a part in the current story I'm (slowly) working on.
I decided to get adventurous and do the drawing in color, so I kept that in mind as I was making the initial sketch. I think it turned out pretty darn good, considering that I don't do many drawings in color. :) Well, I guess you folks will let me know what you think of this piece... :P
For those who may not know, the Mûr Tua’ansa (same usage for both singular or plural) are a [i]nocturnal[/i] race, so a "daylight" portrait would be keeping her awake. Her skin is gray with black, natural, markings (those are [i]not[/i] tattoos!), her eyes are an ice blue in color (they can see in infrared through ultraviolet), her hair is black, and her eyebrows are a stark white. The tassel that you see on her arm bracelet indicates her position as being the head person of what she does (she has another on her other arm, also with one tassel -- there are always two, just as Lady Jfel-The'ana has two tassels, one on each earring [healers are the only ones who wear earrings, btw]). The horns on her head are bone, they point forward and down towards the nose (they [i]do[/i] have a purpose, which will be talked about in an upcoming story). Lady Pren-Dre'ana has some of her hair tied up in back and there is a flower with some leaves stuck into it. The circlet on her head is silver, and shows that she is nobility. Height-wise, she's 8 ft 2 in tall, not sure about her weight, and she's a lot older than one might expect...and currently single. ;)
I drew this using a 0.5 mm mechanical pencil with HB lead, black ink pen, PrismaColor pencils, various blending and shading tools, on Georgia-Pacific's "Everyday Copy & Print" paper.
