After quite a drive and me doing my best not to be a nervous wreck, Krystal is in labor with our twins and she's been experiencing contractions now for about six hours, the blue vixen taking a gasp of air every so often as I do my best to stay awake by her side as I hold her hand, those teal eyes looking at me with a tired gaze as I do my best to try to stay awake.




The vixen gives a smile "Hon, you look so tired. Please try to get some rest."




"I-I'm fine... I just... don't.... wanna... m-miss any... anything." trying to form words and speak, but after being up for about sixteen hours, it's really hard "Besides, I just want to... make sure... your comfortable."




Krystal gives me a kiss "I'm fine sweetie, the twins are going to be on their way in a little while. Just lay back and go to sleep.", she tightens her grip a little more "You have always been there for me and I've always been there for you, I'm happy that your sacrificing what you can, but I think you have lost enough sleep, please just get some rest... for me and the twins."




I give a few tired blinks, but I've lost the ability to speak, the vixen lets go of my hand and brings her hand around my neck, bringing my head close to hers and I soon fall asleep.

Krystal eyes her now sleeping husband, the poor thing's been going crazy all day in getting her to the hospital and going through all kinds of stuff to try to make her as comfortable as he can... she wonders how how he hasn't had a panic attack yet.




A contraction comes which causes her to wince a little, she looks to her tummy 'The both of you are really eager to come home.', a tear forms 'I can't wait for you to meet your daddy, Adam is full of heart and he really wants to meet you, you will drive him crazy but he'll love you no matter what, you will give him a hard time but he'll always be there and you'll make him question you at times but he will support you.', she looks to the human 'Trust me, I know... he will go to Hell and back just to make sure you are safe and carry you back.'




A few hours slowly go by as the vixen takes looks at her tummy and her husband, feeling the contractions coming and going as she manages it, trying to give Adam some time to rest is really needed as he really wants to witness her giving birth and seeing the two hybrids finally release into the world. A jolt hits her which causes her to wince, quite a powerful contraction, she's guessing that this is it and decides to wake Adam up.

I feel myself being shaken "Honey! Please get a nurse!"




I wake up "Alright, I'll get you blueberry pie!" as my eyes shoot open and I stand up, ready to run out the door, I look to see Krystal with a raised eyebrow and I can see she's sweating a little, I run out the door and I don't see anyone... so I handle this the best way I know how, the only way a trained star fighter pilot and battle hardened soldier should act at this time... "Nurse! Doc! My wife needs help?!" panicking on the spot, I cry out "I need an adult! ... Oh wait!"




A doctor and a team of nurses come my way and we all get into the room, the doc checks Krystal down there, she smiles and looks at us and gives the all clear for her to push. I take Krystal's hand with my left so that I can kind of witness this miracle of life, Krystal's face turns red as the doctor instructs her when to push and...




I gasp in pain as I think Krystal is about to crush the bones in my hand to dust, but I manage to fight through it, I'm not missing this for anything! I look over to see the first of the two come out, a kit with peach and white fur with a some dark blue hair like Krystal's and it's a girl... hearing that new cry causes tears to be released as I just stand there, it's like the world has just stopped. But I come back to my senses as the second kit slowly comes through, this one having blonde hair, a coat of blue and peach, this one is a boy. I sit next to my wife as she regains her breath and my mind is trying to put all of this together, there is nothing I can say, nor do that expresses how I actually feel... they are here... they are finally here and I still can't believe it.




The nurses clean them up and the doctor checks them before gives them to us, Krystal holds our daughter and I hold my son, tears are in both our eyes but I think I'm just short of balling in joy, these little bundles of fur, two ears, ten fingers and ten toes, I feel my left shoulder being touched, I look to see my wife eyeing me with a tired smile as she brings us together.




The next day arrives and I'm still trying to process all of it, our old crew-mates arrive with all kinds of oh's and aww's with the ladies the most taken aback.




Fox puts a hand on my back "Congrats to Adam and Krystal!" with a proud smile.




Miyu side hugs me "Happy father's and mother's day!" with quite a joyful squee that I haven't heard before.




Krystal gives a giggle "Thanks everyone, but I think Adam's the one who needs a little extra attention, he had quite a night." as she cradles the little female fox.




Katt looks to both of us "So what are their names?" with an interested smirk.




Krystal adjusts her cradling a little "This little gem is Diamond, I'm naming her after my mom.", she looks to me "Go ahead sweetie, I know how much it means to you." as she looks to be holding back tears but she's keeping her smile strong which earns everyone's attention.




I smile at the little kit in my arms, those little eyes looking right at me "I'm naming this little guy after my dad, his name is Leslie.", the kit reaches up to me to which I gently take it with one of my fingers, I feel tears leave my eyes again but I don't make any sound as I keep my smile up 'Dad... I wish you can be here and see this, I wish you and mom and Krystal's parents can be here and meet these two.'




Miyu let's a few tears leave her gaze as well "Such lovely names." as she brings me over to Krystal.




The lynx helps me sit down, Krystal places her head gently against mine as I see a few tears leave those teal eyes again, I know she's thinking the same thing I am, these two new souls are named after those we miss, I know we are scared for what may come, but we'll tackle it the same way we always have... together. All I find myself asking is this... are these the same thoughts our parents had when we were born? Were they scared too? Either way I think I'm starting to understand it, these two bundles are dependent on us... and we aren't going to let them down, I know we wont!




I look to both Leslie and Diamond 'This is it, this will be thee most important mission of my entire life, heck my life is over, it's now all about them.', I close my tired eyes for a moment and I open them once more 'Mission... accepted!'
