Exhausted after boiling under the piercing sun for so long, even with sun filters it scorches my head, the cool night air feels good against massacred skin, a small meal, hastily prepared, sure, but a meal nonetheless, and how welcome a meal that was.
The stars soon come out and shine above me filling both the sky and sand in their cool glow, growing up in the city meant the sky was filled with light, only now, for the first time in my life, my light is the only one in sight, the sense of how expansive the desert really is finally hits me.
