"Mortimer" by Silentstranger
Title can't be empty.
Title can't be empty.
"All the spirits I tried to meet, could only ever speak of pain and regret. ...I soon realised that I should not be trying to bring back my love, but to ease the passing of others who would go in turn. My wish was selfish, for I wanted to keep her with me for my own sake, not hers. I learnt that too late."
The father of the denial-ridden Koopmar and his reticent sister Shellina, Mortimer is a strange but very brief influence in both James and Koopin's stories as a mysterious figure of darkness, a warlock who tried to defy death and create immortality against the better natures of his world. But death shall always be a great mystery to all creatures and though he tried his greatest to the end of his own life to study the very nature of it, he learned too late that it is not what you make of death that matters in the end, but what you make of your life itself.
----------------
This was the other commission alongside the GRIEF pic that I asked Silentstranger to do mainly because I wanted to give him more cool ideas to do. He went a little "Binding of Isaac" on this one and even though we had very little of Mortimer in the FG stories, I really liked him a lot that I wanted him to have his own pic of sorts.
