"Look, I do know how this is supposed to go. I'm sure you want to rescue your friend; 'real heroes stick together,' 'nobody gets left behind,' all of that stuff. You're supposed to make a final last attempt at rescue, and either save your friend or go out in a blaze of glory. It's tradition.
"Here's the thing: I heard you two on your way in. I heard the way she talked to you. And maybe I'm just imagining it, but it didn't seem like she respected you all that much. She certainly didn't seem to appreciate the fact that without a good healing mage like you backing her up, she'd probably have gone down to the first monster she tried to fight. So the question I think you need to ask yourself: is she worth the risk to rescue?
"Because I think we both know how it would end. I'm sure you'd try your best, but you're not a fighter, and I'm immune to most magicks. If your warrior friend couldn't best me even with your support, it's pretty clear what would happen if you tried to attack me by yourself.
"All I'm saying is, I'm already full. Yeah, if you want, we could continue this thing to the bitter end; I'm sure I could squeeze another meal in if I had to. But we also could just call this whole thing off here. You seem pretty nice, and I wouldn't mind if you wanted to just hang out and chat for a while. I don't get company all that often.
"In the end, it's up to you. What's your decision?"
