Pool Pals At The Fire Station
Finally we get to see a part of the Pool Pals' families!
None of the Pool Pals are really religious; they're just taking part in a temporary exchange program to the Catholic school in their hometown; maybe a few days there just to see what it's like.
The Nun is Sister Margret, and the girls' chaperone for the day. She is well aware of this cabal of Jacobites in her midst, and keeps an eye on them. Margret is very stern, but very fair; and genuinely cares for all her students.
Believe it or not, Cindy has family ties at this firehouse! The two firefighters the kids are talking to are her parents; George and Dilly Vanderspot. Here, Dilly is telling Cindy why they decided to have her at the fire station and George is looking nervous because he's worried trouble could arise. And we all know what happened next! Despite the fact that Cindy was an accident, her parents love her very much and try their best to raise her well. Dilly is also a captain and her truck is named Cindy; it's an inside joke by the fire department since Cindy is her baby, and some firemen consider their trucks their babies!
