A Bird of Another Color
This colorful little friend here is called a Gouldian finch (Erythrura gouldiae), a common domestic species of finch that was quite a delightful little surprise. I encountered a bunch of these handsome little devils when I visited the nursing home of my girlfriend’s grandmother. As soon as you walk through the front door and turn to your left, you’ll come face-to-face with a beautiful little aviary. She always has to wait for me while finish my little bird “nerding” out for a bit. I’m a stickler for the little guys!
