The door slammed as he walked out. The note on the table in the dark kitchen was left untouched. His father went to bed, knowing that his son was now gone, but not caring at all. It wasn't until the next morning he would even bother reading Jasper's letter.
"Dear Dad,
You wanted me gone, so I'm leaving. I promise I will no longer be a burden to you or your wife, because you'll never see me, or hear from me, ever again. There was one thing I always wanted to say: Mom deserved so much better than the worthless trash that you are. I guess that's why you and Abby go so well together. You're both fucking trash. So have fun with your worthless wife and lazy, disgusting stepdaughter. I am no longer your son.
