Nyf - Soul of Curiosity
Behold, the younger version of the Clothed Giegue.
When I first drew Nyf, as an adult, I drew him wearing Chara-inspired clothing.
It was a simple fun idea I had, but it stuck in my head even after I was finished with the drawing.
And as such, I did a little thinking, a little headcanon theorizing, and basically, a way to give this cute little guy a backstory, including how he got the sweater.
Though the backstory itself is still in early concepts, I can't really say too much about it.
Except that, purely accidentally, I realized I had made something interesting with the sweaters;
Chara - 1 Stripe
Frisk - 2 Stripes
Nyf - 3 Stripes, 2 thin ones, 1 thick one.
Chara's stripe, of what I can remember from footage of the game, is quite thick, while Frisk's stripes are relatively thin, ergo, 2 thin stripes, and 1 thick one.
However, this isn't supposed to mean anything.
Nyf isn't some carnation of Chara and Frisk together.
It was a coincidence that happened while I was designing the sweater.
I also decided to give Nyf an "Orbital Soul", very much inspired by the Human souls in Undertale.
Nyf has the Soul of [color=pink]Curiosity[/color].
I chose Pink, because..
Now, I might be thinking incorrectly, but...
[color=#b448ce]Perseverance[/color], the ablity to do something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success...
One who is [color=#b448ce]persistant[/color], is also [color=red]determined[/color].
And when one is [color=#b448ce]persistant[/color], [color=red]determined[/color], and grow up in a [color=white]loving[/color] family, one will become [color=pink]daring[/color].
And when one is [color=pink]daring[/color], one is also often of the [color=pink]curious[/color] kind.
This is how I was thinking when I decided on Nyf's soul color, to be pink.
Take Purple, add in some red, and whiten it, and you have Pink.
Nyf, as a youngling, is quite a [color=pink]curious[/color] child, and won't let anything stop him when he's got his eyes fixed on something.
But what connection does Nyf have with Frisk, Chara, and the other HUMAN children?
Does his family have some kind of tie-in with the war between monsters and humans?
What color is Nyf's sweater?
In due time, I'm sure I'll be able to answer these questions.
But for now, this is all.
